smallest sprocket with USA BB
graeme:
Sprockets smaller than 40t are a mystery to me LOL
I am thinking of fitting a 9t freecoaster hub so would need something like a 23t sprocket.
Will this work with a USA BB and a 1 piece crank?
When do you start to get into 'micro' teritory? (i dont even know what that means really!)
Thanks.
harris:
its all about the rear geometry some bikes will let you fit microdrive but some will make the chain rub on the underside of the chainstay
some will some wont...i did run a 10t rear and 28t on my trickstar
graeme:
cr*p, hadnt thought about that.
Ive got chainstay brakes too (88 haro master)
Can anyone tell me the diameter of 9t drivers and 23t sprockets? Then i can try and work out if it will fit.
Or, diameters of drivers/sprockets near these sizes to give me some idea.
I guess im going to need the diameter without the teeth so i can work out where the inside of the chain will be.
HEYWOOD BMX:
:) Most modern day sprockets are made to fit on 3 pc cranks, either 22 or 19mm borehole.Chainwheels for 1 pc cranks usually need 23.8mm borehole sprockets so take care before buying anything.
