pitbull brake springs

meticulous:
the springs dont seem to be springy enough to release the brakes quickly, can you turn them little springs 180 degrees to make them more springy or will this break the spring?

I do, it seems over time the springs don't work as well, but I don't know how to cure it, someones bound to know if they can be fixed.
