Title: VDC changa up for resto
Post by: moochalargo on February 10, 2012, 08:27 AM
Hi lads. An old school friend of mine has a changa.
It needs restoration but it's all there. I'd love it but can't afford it. I would offer him a sly £100 but think he has an idea it's worth a little more poss from me. Lol stupid boy.

So it's a changa with forks and VDC bars with a set of arayas on red suize hubs I think.
The frames in need of restoration.

What is it worth and who is interested if anyone???
We are in Dorset.

Cheers lads!

Difficult to call without some good photos as VDC's have very thin tubing so any rust might need some very careful restoration.

Either ways I guess a good one with bars should fetch at the moment £800+

So what is its value? And what could he get for it.

yeah, seat stays / down tube junction is GHP style. Seen this on a cruiser but not a changa so slightly out of the ordinary...

Damn I love a VDC,

What is the serial # ?

Really hard to put a value on the Frame/Fork and Bars, but if it has no structual damage it could go large.

they don't come up for sale very often,

I remember when you could get one for £300 F&F about 5 to 6 years ago  :'(

eBay is the best way to get a good price and everyone can have a shot at it, start the bidding at £350 and see where it goes

VDC were a little like "Profile" with their discrepancies, the brake bridge on mine is a tad different to thers, Voris and his welders just grabbed whatever from the part bins.......

It could go quite large on ebay.....

Do you think we should have a bidding session on here or should she go to the bay?
Title: Re: VDC changa up for resto
Post by: southern andy on February 14, 2012, 07:50 AM
The fairest way is the bay unless you or your mate have had a PM with an offer he can't refuse.

It's only rusty, as soon as that is dechromed the rust will go away aswell, that's an piss easy resto for anyone on here.

Bay it for all to have a go at is my two penneths worth.
