Shipped a 26" cruiser f&f to California 6 months ago. UPS through Parcels2Go.  135 quid tracked/signed for. Door to door in 2 1/2 days. Fastest I've ever used.

Last time I shipped a f&f to the States it was about ?70.
So the ?117 I've just been quoted at the post office is reasonable then?

Sounds reasonable Nick. Just bear in mind that it'll take longer with Royal Mail/USPS. I sent a t-shirt to New York in January and it took 6 weeks to get there.

6 weeks is fookin ridiculous for royal mail... no doubt covid's to blame.

It's USPS that are the disaster, not so much RM. It's been to the point that I've actually given up buying from the States lately. USPS have an international hub in Erlanger ky. Everything enters there and just stagnates. Last couple of parts I've bought have taken 6-12 wks when shipped with USPS. Couple of bits have never even turned up. Enter Erlanger and either never come out or only after many weeks. It's one of the reasons so many Museum members have got so ancy about international shipping recently too.

Just my humble, but I'd go through ParcelHero or Parcel2Go & avoid anything that involves USPS, it's all got quite a bit more expensive though recently in reality.

I haven't bought anything from the States recently but used to a lot and USPS was not only the cheapest but reasonably quick too. I know they were having problems last year dealing with various election issues, so maybe the current delays are connected with that?? In any case it's useful info to know, particularly as I've been eyeing up some stuff on the Museum. :daumenhoch:

I've been thinking the same ^^^ thing! Apostrophes too. I thought it was because I use a Japanese keyboard, albeit with the language setting changed to English but perhaps it's not just me after all! ::)

Those prices seem quite reasonable to me considering shipping a bike in the uk seems to have trebled since covid? Can anyone suggested a company for uk shipping? P4d seem to have got rid of parcelforce from their website and no drop offs either, cant be bothered waiting in for a delivery it's a waste of a whole day! Their website now says collection by P4D so is that them or are they using a third party? Anybody know?
