Cheers Nick, hope you're good. That's the Chainring you sold me, I didn't like stripping it though, especially as I found myself needing a gold one recently. Never again.

I’d planned to swap a few parts out today and nearly didn’t after your comment but went ahead anyway. Bits can always be swapped again. I put some nos Formos qr mx1000, used Shimano DX levers, generic cables and a nos Meng Jing post. Wasn’t feeling the lay back. Here’s a few pics for now will update tomorrow against my trademark brick wall need to drop the seat a tad though. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200425/13faba944337548ebd7a7f995d22bc90.jpg)

So, after dinner tonight the Mrs was starting a new box set and it wasn't for me. I've had a pair of blue Ukai's hanging in the cave for about a year, they should be on the Blue Max I thought, so a little tinkering began. They look so much better so I'm glad I swapped them out. Then I thought as nice as the blue Formos calipers and Shimano levers are the bike would look a lot better with the silver Chang Star MX900's, Tech III's and white cables back on. After a quick cuppa I stripped the calipers and levers off ready to complete the swap out tomorrow. Hopefully I'll have some pics to put up tomorrow if you're interested. Have a good weekend guys.

Forgot you had this...

Had one of these as my third ride BITD. Interesting little ditty. My second ride was a mark 1 chrome burner, upgraded with Acorns ( :2funny:) fluted seat post the works  :LolLolLolLol:. Then, one day I was down my dad's work yard, & just jumped off the burner and laid it on the ground. A few minutes later lots of swearing and apologising from my old man (and apologies were very infrequent) as he reported he'd run over my bike and properly pancaked it. All worked out fine, as he claimed on his company insurance, and then my mum claimed on the Halfords insurance she'd taken out on the Burner the Christmas before. So, a couple of weeks later back to Halfords and a bit of an upgrade, and these had just arrived. Loved the thing, but did obviously take the stickers of pretty quickly ( :-X) and try to pretend it was a fully blown californian  :uglystupid2: .... I was young.

Ouch, shame about the Burner but I reckon it worked out in the end  :LolLolLolLol: My Burner was stripped bit by bit whilst is was locked up outside our house. I ended up with a Night Burner after that, I was chuffed with the upgrade. I remember my cousins ripping their pad sets off of any bike they had straight away ( 'gooses & rippers), so that's what happened to them all bitd :slayer:

Will do John  :daumenhoch: they're decent enough but the hubs have been touched up a bit, by a dirty old man with a Sharpie, not me by the way  :LolLolLolLol:. Should fit in with the general condition of the bike.

"wantit" the iron cross gusset, a thing of beauty  :smitten: a great pair there mate.

Quick update... I dug out the MX 900's and Tech III's and noticed the cheap replacement bolts I used. They always bugged me but luckily since originally using them on the Blue Max I've acquired something a little better to use. The Dia-Compe caliper I used on my MX 113 build came with a short bolt for flat brake bridges. That was swapped out for a 1985 bolt from nos pair of Dia-Compe 400 road calipers I bought very cheaply on eBay just for that job. So because the Blue Max has a flat bridge I fitted the spare short bolt to the MX 900 rear and used the nicer black Dia-Compe washer. Then I done the same with the front MX 900 using the complete nos 1985 Dia-Compe bolt. The caliper used on the MX 113 also came with new dark blue Kool Stop pads so they are being used. I've just ordered another pair to match from Boyd's using the HOTHEART 10% discount code. Result 👍🏼 The white Power Glide cables were also dug out and fitted. When the pads arrive I will update with the finished pics. I think I'll lose the decal on the seat post and drop the seat a bit too.

Can you not remove the decal with a hair dryer and move it up ? Or send it to Del and get him to do a replacement.
Seems a shame for it not to have its decal  :(
