ive decided that i want a raw finnish on my old dk :daumenhoch: ill strip it soon 'do i just clear coat it after ? or do i have to rough up the melal ie sand it ? i dont want it shinny :-\ just indurtial looking :daumenhoch: thanks for any help :daumenhoch:

seriously though, strip it bare, seriously degrease it's ass, then laquer it. see if the laquer stays on ok!!!
raw/clearcoat finish is pretty ugly though
go for a wacky colour scheme!!!

Yep, I'll second that, see if SuperbikeDan can do a nice pink and yellow spot number like the Race Inc he did bitd :LolLolLolLol:

been out too look at spray :shocked: its well pricy :-\ down hear its £11-13 a tin ? so im going to stick to the clear coat for now 'its cheaper ::)

raffle the paint job its the latest craze is raffles, £1 a ticket winner decides on colours scheme ie union jack in grey black and white, red green and yellow etc

You could also try scotchbrite. I found that you can get a nice satin finish on alloy if you put oil on it, might work the same on steel as well.

vic murphy had a wicked paint job on one bike
i think it went white to flames to black
do it like that!!!
get yourself an airbrush off the bay. they are pretty cheap, and you can run 2k paint through them no problem
when it's all done, bung a ton of laquer over it :)

nah it had flames - as in hod rod paint job. but it was white at the front.
