OK Guys ... put this date in your diary ... December 14 ......
Wigan RAD TOY RIDE to the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary Childrens ward .
We will be meeting outside ALANS BMX SHOP at midday and ridding to the Wigan Hospital to delivery toys and games to the sick children in hospital ..Many of us will be dressed up as SANTA . We kindly ask that each rider bings along a toy or game in new and in original packaging . this so the toys/games can be given to the appropiate child . Lads,
I would love to join you for this; I love the Wigan rides, and this one has the bonus of being to do some good.
Unfortunately, and you know what's coming next, I will be diving up in Scotland on the club's annual Xmas bash.
So, I am out, but have a great roll anyways.
Clean.

Now this is what the RAD community is all about :). A great deal of interest in this already. I'll go for a santa suit, as i think it would be a bit difficult to ride a bike in my inflatable Jabba the Hutt costume!
-
Sorry Guys I thought I had been already counted in... I am in too great Idea and giving in the community on here it's never in Doubt the support it will bring.
It's only a short couple of miles ride from Alans up to Wish FM, shall we see if Uncle Joes will get on board and sponsor it for us ?
Giving in the community " The Santa old school bike ride powered by Uncle Joe's mint balls and Alans bmx" sounds nice !
My mate is a big Harley Davidson man they do the Christies christmas present run every year, he is a big hairy angry lookin guy and it brings him to tears every year ........Nuf Said .....
-
Sounds good Daz, all support is good. :daumenhoch:
-
Dan, what about getting donations in for buying new toys? ???
lets make those sack bulge!! ooh er Mrs ;D

Darren , the more people that join this ride and support us the better. feel free to get uncle joes on board mate . anybody who can help advertise this ride please feel free to do so . anybody who feels they can add to the ride in any constructive way possible thats also very welcome. Already , RETRODAN has helped by starting a facebook page, ALAN WOODS has donated a bmx bike, CARL in2bmx has allowed his business address to be used so RADSTERS who cant make the ride but would still like to contribute can. Presents are even being donated from the other side fo the world :D .. lets show the RAD spirit to this great cause by making this the biggest ride we possibly can. :daumenhoch:

I've now got a poster up on the main notice board at work.

Great stuff Andy!!!! :4_17_5:
I've just been given a nice large teddy from one of my neighbours......
....at this rate I'm gonna struggle to carry everything and ride my bmx at the same time!!! :D
Is there any chance that Snav can take some of the toys in the "recovery vehicle "while we ride?
Just an idea ? :LolLolLolLol: "help"
.... Or can someone build a very large Santa sleigh that can be pulled by bmx bikes?!! :2funny:
-
PM sent re paypal. I do have one request.......... any chance of buying some kids books with my bunce. Not the most glamourous of pressies I know, but a few football annuals, horrible histories that sort of thing or something the older kids might read like hunger games as they tend to get overlooked.
Thanks
Bert

comments noted Bert. Thanks!

Quick up date guys , Wigan Scooter Club have kindly offered to escort us and marshall the route from ALANS bmx shop up to Wigan Hospital ,this will help make the ride a lot safer . Andy dancetothedrummersbeat is organising the local papers to be at ALANS for 12 midday so please try and be on time dressed up as santa and have your make up done . :LolLolLolLol: we will be leaving ALANS at 1 o'clock prompt to make the short ride up to the Hospital. after the hospital we will be going just a few hundred yards up the road to the CHERRY GARDENS for a warm and a few drinks "wantit" anyone who wants to do a bit of dirt track ridding into Haigh Hall please follow JONO :2funny: the chances are its going to be a little chilly so its a good idea to be wrapped up warm under those Red Suits and have gloves too . Looking forward to this Xmas ride to end the year on a high . :slayer:

This might be an idea to 1: save you from the long arm of the law, and 2. To minimise the risk of being knocked off your bike and scratching that chrome/powder coat.
Silicone bike lights front & back. Work like a dream & cheap as chips.

As some of you may know, Factory Pilot (Ant) spread the word about this event around his workplace and with his neighbours, and the response has been fantastic. I called over to his this evening to collect the presents, as there was no way he'd be able to carry this lot on his bike. Oh, and he also has a fantastic collection of mint old school bikes too. If you're into your Haros (how is it pronounced, Denzil?), then you'll love this collection. Great to see the Streetbeat :smitten: and a mint Aero Reflex as well. Those jerseys are quality too! I won't ask how much the Skyway one cost to buy! Lots of quality presents also. Thanks Ant!

RADSTERS , id just like to say how awsum yesterdays turn out was for RADTOY ride. santas on bmx's just kept turning up out side ALANS bmx shop . two classic icons also made a guest appreance. E.T. himself and HONEY MONSTER :LolLolLolLol:.... yesterday showed how the rad spirit is well and truely alive and kicking.
id like to thank each and everyone one of you for turning up and making it such a fantastic day ,also thank you to everyone who donated a toy sent a paypal gift , and everyone who bought a raffle ticket . :daumenhoch: plenty of regular faces yesterday along with lots new ones too . just shows that the love of old school bmx is still strong.
id also like to just mention a few members who helped yesterday work .
Andy Dancetothedrummersbeat ... Andy has done a lot and i do mean a lot of running round contacting the hospital , newspaper, and also collecting toys from .... Ant Factory pilot .... who himself has collected from friends family and work collegues a MASSIVE amount of toys. also a massive big thank you to ....
