pump the tyres up and away to go! lol any cleaner and it'll get lifted in no time in london ???
-
Sweet project. Proper get your teeth into that :daumenhoch:
Get it in the budget build off ;)
-
Cool :coolsmiley: I love seeing things like this ... :daumenhoch: propa rat look resto .. :daumenhoch:
-
if it wasnt for the dumpy fat seat, that looks cool ! i would love to turn round an original bike like that into something special.... and what a frame to do it on.....
-
Get a tube in the front, job done :D .......' Rat rider' :coolsmiley:
Seriously though , that will be a nice resto to work on . Love it :daumenhoch:
-
Gotta keep that comfy seat
-
:smitten: that looks proper :4_17_5:
-
;) Looks well cool 8)
-
thats an awsum find / remembered were i left it find.. be nice to see this restro in stages :daumenhoch:
-
Lovin that.
I would be tempted to blow the tyres up , regrease and just ride the mother.
-
get the pledge out and away you go
-
all stripped, apart from 1 bit everything came undone, pedals freewheel cranks everything..mad
the stems like a pro neck but not,i had to undo the fat nut and slide it off the shaft thats in soak.
wheels are cleaner now they where all covered in clay ???
-
I would love a Natty Pro :smitten:
-
Pull the bars back a bit though :D
-
all stripped for inspection.still amazed that now the stems out ,every nut & bolt came undone easily, the stem was just tapped out this morning.
all axles and freewheel even came off with no agro.
-
just started the light restoration at the cost of a whole £1 ... 1 can of coke ,1 small bundle 00 wire wool
its taken about 1 1/2 hrs just rear part and forks, even refurbed the cheap copy mx again all lightly.
i may upgrade some bits but it did come this way.

-
what i did today didnt take long,i havent any oxalic acid yet..in the post pfftt
will try to do a little every evening till shes ok.
-
that is awesome stuff, you gotta love a natty :smitten:
-
Top job Dan :daumenhoch:
I take it the barn/shed wasn't water tight
-
i would say ;D this is actually the hardest build ive had in.
usually its easy straight to paint or chrome then new bits
but this isnt getting all that so having to raine it in this time.
if the chrome doesnt come up well then it may get chromed under instruction.
-
Awesome bike , will be good to see it evolve ;)
-
My fave race bike, looks like a great survivor Dan :daumenhoch:
-
Nice work so far Dan. :daumenhoch:
-
guys just thinking on tyres,do i go new type comps amber wall or a used old clean set, kinda on a budget so cant go mad
but it ill be ridden so cant be cracked to death.
-
Personally i would try and get an old set to go with the rest of the bike... im restoring a f+f myself which has had better days and im putting new comp 3's on purely because ive had them for a while and it makes sense to use them but i know from an aesthetic point of view old ones would be better...havent helped at all have i :LolLolLolLol:
-
well i am on the fence on these,if it was mine i would get used old type but this guy wont be bothered
will see what comes up
-
Dan I might have some decent old 80'S used comp III's :)
-
all ears ian :daumenhoch:
-
If its a rider Id go new reissue comp 3's. The authenticity of the old tyres is great, but I just find older tyres dont handle riding tyre pressures very well at all. So if its going to get ridden about having a fresh set on the bike that can hold decent pressure and seat well on the bead makes a big difference.
-
By the time he's ridden over field or track on a wet day the tires would fit right in anyway even if they were new initially.
At least they would be safe too.
-
Good work so far Dan, :coolsmiley:
Do you still want my mate to get a price on re chroming? Heis back on Friday so can ask him then... :daumenhoch:
-
yes matt as i have no idea yet if this will do,he did want it chromed as he said he couldnt see any way on this planet that i would be able
to tidy it up.
-
just a few bits to get maybe at mk,decals needed as these are plop.
kept a lid on over doing it and used my race tyres for now.
only used a small bottle of coke, got this saturday.
same stem,bars,frame,forks,wheels,seat clamp,front brake,chainring,some bearings.
