closed up shop late eighties, zeronine still exists and still owned and run by the same guy (Owen Scheppman) but they don't do bike stuff.
http://www.zeronine.com/
Apparently there's a company in the far east that acquired the rights to make and sell Zeronine branded bike stuff.

clive did you find a frame?

Yep, got this about to land from the US, set my alarm for 4am and nabbed it for £120! Not bad! It's gonna be black. It's not what i wanted, i wanted an earlier (85/86) Cyclecraft US built one but this will do for now....

Can someone enlighten a new guy about zeronine? I'd never heard of them until I joined up here. Despite not being massively into BMX in the 80's I knew of most of the makes (Skyway, Redline, DB, Mongoose etc) but never heard of zeronine before. I see the parts are well sought after tho.
Whats the deal?

Zeronine was mainly a numberplate brand initially, one of the real originals from the very early '80's, maybe even late 70's. They also made the most amazing custom race pants for the likes of Richie Anderson, the pants were made by hand by the mother of the guy that owned the company. They were also real big on the glove scene, wristwraps were the glove of choice. They made frames from 1985 until around 1988. I think they closed up shop early nineties but not sure on that.
In the mid eighties they had several world champions racing for them including Frank Gregory and Shan hatfield. I'd say in around 1987/88 a lot of people had or wanted zeronine race gear as it was distinctive and fresh.
I raced for zeronine 86/87, here's me.

When i raced i really liked Zeronine Frames and racegear, i saw them as top end race bikes and a bit unusual, compared to common Hutch's and JMC's ::)
-
I once had a beautiful red zeronine race frame and forks, wih the 80's cube style multicoour squares all over it. I loved it!
-
In the early 90's there was a revival of Zeronine, Scott Cramer worked alongside Owen and launched a new design of pad sets, plates and wrist wraps, we had an exclusive UK deal with them alongside MH, as far as i can remember that carried on til dad folded the team in about 1995?
Have scotts parents number at Dad's so i'll try and dig it out and find out whats the deal now :daumenhoch:
Will try and post some piccies of the early 90's stuff when i get a chance :daumenhoch:

:) Please can someone tell me who the Zeronine UK distributor was? I remember a car parts supplier in Edgware ,N.W.London called Premier Automotive used to have a lot of Zeronine gear in his shop.A shop called Broadway Bikes in West Hendon in London also had a Zeronine frame ,looked a lot like a T.A,but with a gusset between the top and down tubes, and with some of the best chrome plate and TIG welding I have ever seen..

it was Graham at Hotwheels in Bournemouth, i asked him at bournemouth 05 oldskool race if he had any stashed away ::)
no was the answer, he did say Zeronine was a right low key company, the clothes were made from home!
heres the one i race at oldskool summer races :)
