Title: Powder coaters in West Midlands area?
Post by: gaf16 on November 20, 2005, 06:29 PM
hi,

i'm new to the site and could do with some pointers please.

i need to find a decent powder coating company in the west mid's area to repaint a redline mx-11 frame i've just aquired.

i also need some advice on how to remove a snapped and stuck seatpost from the seat tube.

is heating up the seat tube the best way?

trying to relive my youth, but could not resist the redline (even with a stuck post) as i had one new in the early 80's.

thanks.

they quoted me £60 to shot blast, prep and powder coat 2 sets of frames & forks in white.

sounds like a bargain to me, but just want to check on finish quality before going ahead.

it won't be cheap if it's so poor they need doing again.

I think their works o.k. You may need to do a little bid of cut and polish to make it perfect, although the GT in the picture hasn't been touched.
