My second build.
Just got this in the last couple of weeks, so been busy collecting some parts to get the build moving along steadily, I have always liked these and its going to be fun building it up and getting it out in the summer with my kids on the 81 robinson.. :smitten:
I will upload some pics for starters......(photobucket giving some problems) >:(
Another big thanks to Joff (Norty40) and Tony (Torker dude 180) for the bits and bobs... :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch:

You were correct again my good friend, these do ride well albeit that next one I hear from a few is the best ever to ride... :smitten:
Took the Robinson to Coppull today, doesnt quite get you over them like the Kawi...
-
Sweet looking build that :daumenhoch: I really don't like coloured chains though but thats just me.

Darren, you never told me you had an MRD Badlander to build when we met the other day in a rain-soaked Manchester car-park
(sorry, we all have an opinion on THE best o/s bike to ride :2funny: )
Nice GT - been meaning to build one myself and never managed it in all the years I've been into this crazy hobby - but I love it mate, spot on :daumenhoch:

very very nice bike
When i grow up im going to get me one of those.. AGAIN... or the black chrome....
and so it has started... this is going to get very expensive.. :smitten:
-
Ive got used to the GT now and to be honest it rides great, I ve gone off the gloss black depite it looking great and want to change the look of the bike, Can anyone show me pics of a black Chrome GT Pro NC ?
I have the bike completely stripped down now and have made a start removing the black Powder coating, its chrome under the powder albeit I would guess survivor condition at best tbc ?
Ive seen quite a few nice one's in metallic blue and chrome albeit never a black chrome one...I have thoughts of a wicked real off the wall scheme,Really nostalgic colour scheme albeit Norty40 might hot me with a Comp 111 round the head ....if I went ahead with it... :-\
Idea's and pics if you can Radsters.... :daumenhoch:

would have loved a GT bitd

would have loved a GT bitd
It's never to late BITD or IT'D as we are now get one buddy I love this GT frame set it's a really nice bike to plod or thrash round on.
The build quality and welds are of a very high quality workmanship and mine is under a re-vamp at the moment so I've had time to look at it instead of just assembling a bundle of parts.
-
Nice.
-
Looked good in black, but interested to see what's coming next.
The nicest frame to ride from that time for me I can see why you've built 2 already.
-
Here's some quick pics of My I-Phone Guys quality's not great albeit you get to see the revised "build 2 and a 1/2" until photobucket behaves itself .... :smitten:
I have done this rebuild for two reasons to be honest, firstly I liked the black albeit never really warmed to it 100% and I use the bike for pottering around on and tracks every now and again and felt concerned about marking it albeit the powder was a top job whoever did it..
Secondly I never really felt like I had restored the GT more a case of assembled it from a mint frame set, that for me is troublesome.
I have always built and maintained my own Trackday and show cars aswell as my Motocross bikes and learned a lot from it, so to have a toy I did not restore was like I never really owned it, I had not really made it my own.
Just need a few bits to finish it, 3 piece Redline or Sugino GT, Blue GT padset and the velcrow cable straps.....I love it now.... :daumenhoch:

-
Since posting on this thread i've finally got one of these and would you believe it's been powdered darkest blue over the chrome so this has inspired me to get the paint stripper out Darren.
Love it mate, it looks mint :4_17_5:

Sure is T, I first saw a picture taken in the States of a GT Pro and I got he dizzyness.... :smitten:
They ride awesome, geometry's great and the feel of the bike is really sweet for me, I do admit to getting carried away at Coppull on it keeping the front wheel up over the jumps and rythem sections was real easy and I was very very tempted to really Launch it over the table tops....lol
Next time... :daumenhoch:
Not quite a KX450FI :idiot2:

sweet bike :daumenhoch:
