Hi Orb
It was that bike on - http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php'topic=8422.0
I thought it might be worth a look as it was a looptail, but must say that I was rather dissapointed when I got there. It was a long way to travel but rather than leave empty handed, bought it.
I reckon it might be an 84 Ammaco but don't know much about them.
It has single top tube, straight bars, the serial number on the outside of the dropout and the cut out circle logo in two halfs in the gusset and on the bottom of the forks.
I'll get some better pics up sometime but it has all been sprayed / hand painted silver.... :'(
Any help?
Thanks
J.

Thanks for that info.
The bike I picked up has chunky forks, good welds and straight bars, sugino spider and chain wheel so I reckon it is an 84 Ammaco Team Champion.
I must say I always liked the look of them from adverts in mags and had a very faint picture installed in my brain of what I though it might be when I saw it today.
I have never known anyone that had one, how do they ride and are they any good?
Cheers again for the pics.

Hi
I put it into storage yesterday until time allows for a better assessment.
The frame and forks seem in fairly good condition, and have blue traces. I have checked the magazine description and it says they did them in blue (I only remember silver bike ads), howver the chrome is okay that I can see, but the bike has been sprayed silver. Hopefully with a bit of nitromors and a polish it will come up well.
The pedals are victor, the chain wheel, spider crank etc have also all been sprayed, and I reckon the front wheel is original plus the bars, stem etc.
Another good find though and it will for sure be restored, whether by me or another person as it deserves that.

Hey Kev - thanks for all those scans dude! I saved a SilverStar recently and am just in the process of restoring it - the chrome has come up lovely with just a bit of Autosol and elbow grease! Nice.
I don't suppose, you could do a bigger scan of the SilverStar ad could you please?
Cheers
Dave
