Title: PRO BURNER
Post by: Glynnyboy on April 24, 2011, 11:15 PM
I didn't think i would ever be lucky enough to own one of these. There are one or two parts i would like to change over time but i am happy with how this has turned out.
They are not an easy bike to put together and source all the bits for. I am glad more of these are coming out of the woodwork and also going to owners with whom we will get to see more of them in the flesh with.  8)

WOW, Fantastic bikes and I guess not cheap to build.

Are the handlebars normal Burner ones or were the Pro Burners orig issued with 4130 Chromoly?

Yes the pro bars are chromolly . If you can't source them redline v bars are a perfect substitute.
That's what i have used here.

Funnily enough the only bmx Raleigh released that was better was the team burner. That was the made to measure, special order frame built in Nottingham by raleigh's special development unit.

Yes, that's what I have on mine, that price is utter cobblers though IMO.
Mine were £27 but they were pitted quite badly, they needed to be copper plated before rechrome, all in all that came to around £60.
The stamping couldn't be saved sadly but the bars came out mint.

Got to admit bitd the pro's r gusset and a DB gusset were the gussets that had me week at the knees.
