Post by: BENDYCAT ELEVENTEEN on April 18, 2013, 11:56 PM
What the best way to paint powder a chrome item that you want saved under the colour

I have some forks and they are nos chrome but I would like them black, but don't want to damage or key up them

so can it be painted or powdered ?

Bendy,
As you are awarew the CW was powder over chrome, the problem is the last time dan tried to remove the powde it didn't come of that easily and i had to get the frame chromed again  :-[ Now the candy powder came from the US and DAn said the properties of this were slightly different and when he normally uses his bath to remove the powder it normally leaves the chrome untouched  :daumenhoch:

Maybe rattle can 1k etch primer and black over that?.It should be easy enough to remove and although it might dull the chrome should be easy to polish afterwards :daumenhoch:
