No BC Membership or Racing License needed.   Just get your ass trackside in time for registration and sign up and pay your money.   Thats it!!

REMEMBER!!!   OS Racing is all about fun and trying to stay on the bike.  So all you newbies out there who want to have a dabble then dont wait and dont worry.  We're a great bunch of lads.  Whatever physical condition your in or skills your lacking, you'll still be appreciated.  Its all about the CRAIC!!  :daumenhoch:

If any Midlands, Southern or Scottish OS Riders fancy a trip up/down to sunny Manchester then you'll be more than welcome but prepare for a good ass whupping!!   ;D

Full Face Helmet, Long pants and long sleeve jersey and Gloves are minimum requirements.   I suggest Shin/Kneepads and Elbow pads.  Body Armour wouldn't go a miss either!!  ;)

We have a Round up here on same day guys. However, the last two have been cancelled by snow and a waterlogged track.

So if the track still isn't rideable could be up for a road trip. Will keep you posted

look what came today guys .basically i got us a bit of sponsor money for trophies for the winter series thanks to danny at mercury building products.well i had bit left over so i got these so top 12 will get a trophy and top 7 will get a t shirt as well (need to be 3 races to qualify best 3 scores count to points )

yes i can but basically had some vouchers at the company that makes em and i decided  id put tenner to and got what i could which was 7 lol
i can get more no probs not sure on cost but probably around £9.00 for one .postage is quite high but its same how ever many you buy so buy 7 postage is not much and brings price down
in fact just tried it for 2 inc postage to me its £15.80 /for 3 its £21.60

could i be put down as a very scetchy maybe ?  trying to organise things this week but unsure if it will come together in time, if i make it there,    it will be my first real race since '84 so be gentle with me chaps  :LolLolLolLol: , if one of you kind gents could help me out with registration etc on the day i'd be very greatfull, all bound to be confusing being a new boy and all,   also can i pre book last place ? just to save any confusion on the day   :LolLolLolLol:

I have just read on bmx talk that here is no race until the 30th, can anyone confirm this pleasse.  :)


JUst had confirmation the next race at manchester is the 30th of January  :)

, can't imagine it would've been that nice ,, going off the ride Preston track is like since  the recent weather  :-\

I've weighed up the Manchester 'A' final in my head already , as I've a good idea who's going ,, it'll be a belter.... and I won't be in  it , B final if I'm lucky  :LolLolLolLol:

Well thats good for me.................as I've just tweaked my back and I probably wouldn't have been able to race and I'd be stuck doing cameraman duties for the day!!

I should be fit for the 30th!!   :daumenhoch:

Just been made aware of this news, Can it be rescheduled for the following week as there is a few people having full body waxes on the 30th at the annual Slick Wick festival in Clacton on sea, as a result I am concerned that the numbers for Machester may be well down and they wont get the revenue potential

Old School
Novice: Age on the day. Age groups will be determined according to the number of novices attending. Although their points will not count, they will receive awards on the day.
4 or more riders will constitute a class. Less than 4 will be merged with the next class and will count as one category.

The third and final round at Crewe on the 20th February.

All rounds are to count for trophies.

Please come down and support racing at grass roots level.

Get there early enough to sign on and get some practice.   Be there before 10am at the latest so that you dont have to rush around.   Most will be there around 9:00-9:30.  :daumenhoch:

i've only been on my bike twice since november and ive spilt a good litre of spvnk since then too so if i do make it, a consiquence of afore mentioned spilted man marge is i may struggle with left had berms due to an over developed right arm, thus making the end of the first straight a bigger challange than my unfitness alone had led me to anticipate.  :D

Some of the manchester lot have been in touch!!

The track and berms are now dry (some frozen puddles cleaned up) and I dont think the they'll be much moisture in the air overnight so it will be cold and hard tomorrow but ice free especially on the berms so it shouldn't be slippy.

I was told to wrap up warm though...................as it was fooking cold!!

Bring plenty of layers!!

James..........are you coming on a road trip tomorrow?

was thinking about tyres now i've seen the track   ;D   got comp 3 type on at the mo but was thinking about something a bit smoother rolling,  didn't want to get to far away from the os vibe ,   what about holy rollers?  defo no advantage to swapping from a rider point of view because i'm useless  ;D

Don't get too hung up about wrecking  the OS vibe. Moley is the most vigilant OS Policeman  :police: and he uses New School tyres every time.  :LolLolLolLol:


...having said that I've been using comp III's - they are fine. Just make sure you put plenty of pressure in them - I usually have at 60 psi (ignoring the max psi warnings) but I believe some o the chaps go higher (70+)...

...having said that I've just changed to Primo Dirt Monsters for a tad more speed...

...having said that I've ridden on the DMs once and on that occasion broke my leg.

He had an OS early 1980's GT 20" that he let his daughter ride.   I asked him why he wasn't riding it and he said it was too sketchy.

OS is all about sketchy riding.  The rules are clear.   1" headset and caliper brakes.     An old MTB with a 1" headset and Caliper brakes would even get into the OS Class.    GT did a GT 26" in the late 70s/early 80's.   Plenty of room in the rules for bending and fudging but a NS MTB is a bridge too far!!  :-\

Old School is not about the rider....................you can be young/old or male/female and its not about ability........we dont discriminate against any person wanting to race Old School......................................but we do discriminate against the bike.     :daumenhoch:

Yesterday was great... 3 months since I last lined up on the gate (or even rode my bike for that matter !!) and I was feeling the pain from practice lap no.1...!!

Great racing, great banter and the guys in Old Skool are all legends... missed you guys over the winter months... :smitten: :smitten:

Was chuffed to make the A Final after a long break in riding  :D :D :D

Only negative... I missed my romantic lunch break with Diggler.  :'( :'( :'(

vids are great cheers ian spot on matey
just checked as i was struggling a bit with health and fitness etc etc and a 33lbs bike too lol.i was actually 7 seconds faster this year than in last years race there .i could only manage to get 1 second difference on my times in all 4 races which i found amazingly odd lol.so im pleased at my move forward with the fitmness training and the track time at bradford to which i can thank oggy for that (gates till u puke attitude seems to be working a bit matey )

great great day and cant waqit for the next one may have to go back to the brackens now though holmes is tad heavy for me lol

yeaqh i was faster on bad bike so next time on me brackens i hoppoe to imporve even more .still to put it in perspective it took me 51 seconds to the line and the payback guys were over in 33 seconds.BOf was over the line oin the final at 43 seconds,beard wwas 8th in the a final 48 seconds,the winner of the b final was 47 seconds .so therews not lot in it really between a and b finals its all about qualifying for one of em too.

if the holmes weighed the same as the brackens id use it all the time for sure the geo and ride on em is spot on to be honest i love it .maybe lighter set forks will help somewhat as i have diutchforks on there
