School Assembly: my form teacher new I was into BMX so was asked to do some tricks on the stage, front wheel hops, back wheels hops, front to back wheel hops, 360 bunny hops, a few endo's, 360 tailspin and to finish I dropped off the stage and wheelied up the central aisle :daumenhoch: Got a bollocking for he last bit as didn't tell them I was going to do that (I got carried away!) and no-one expected it :LolLolLolLol:.
Another one was at a Capital Radio fun day at Battersea Park in about 1980 or 81, borrowed Tony Brennan's new Redline and and totally blitzed the jumps, getting massive air much to Tony's dispair as he thought I was goin to break his shiney new bike :LolLolLolLol:
I know, it's two memories but I have so many more :LolLolLolLol:
-
Spent the day riding with Glynn Lewis back in '83. We went to all my local hot-spots including Ammaco HQ where we rode their ramps until we finally got kicked off
Great memories for me and a day of freestyling I'll not forget in a hurry :daumenhoch:

My best riding memory has to be sessioning Rampage in Iowa in 99 with Rick Moliterno, Jeremy Verhulst and Jimmy Levan, feeling way out of my (riding ability) depth but loving it!
...plus the Backyard jams i attended 92 - 97 great times, KOC 91 - 02, BS comps (Oklahoma & Chicago), UKBFA comps, Worlds Cologne, Hungary, Riding in Marseilles, Livi, UGP Roots, Rider Cup and a million street sessions all over the UK.
...memories of Radlands, Notts Wheels, Leigh, Birmingham Wheels, Wakefield, Storm, Rom, Spitalfields, Shady PlayStation and South Bank sessions, great times.
Feeling all nostalgic now! Thanks Dan! :'(

There are plans afoot for that site at Leigh on Sea. There are intentions to build a new park there.
I could tell you more, but then I'd have to kill you ;)
As for memories, one of my prouder moments would be pulling my first 540 air on vert, on my first attempt, on the final night of my personal indoor vert ramp. The following day we pulled it down and sold it to Coca Cola. But thats another story.
January 1995, aged 29, been back riding for almost exactly one year at that time. If there were ever a case of balls over brains, that was it. I truly had no idea what I was doing. I just knew I was either going round, or down....... ;D
Happy days :daumenhoch:

Nottingham National 84..... The Unfinished Business meeting.. Made the quarters and had Tony Holland on my left and Schoffy on my right on the gate...... I hooked up and fell off on the last whoops trying to take 4th place and make the semis. This day and the day i visited Rom are my faves. :smitten:

Got to be the summer of '84 when I plucked up enough courage to finally get about 2ft of air off the pipe my dad made me. I was a god from that day forward in the eyes of my friends.

buiding our own track behind my mates house on a bit of waste land. we had everything on that track although the straights were tiny. The council flattened it :'( twice :'( :'( after that we never re-built it. Other than that i remember jumping over loads of people, and i was only 10 and well chuffed when the big lads let me have a go and trusted me enough to lie down on the floor to be possibly crushed by a ten year old on a burner.

F**k Me! I went to a race at Outwell. It must have been in about 82 or 83. My first race. wooden jumps and flat corners. I think It was a U inside a U track shape so there was 4 straights and 3 corners. I think there were only 3 "jumps". 2 speed wedges and a table top. That was a loooong time ago! I think I came last in every race, maybe second to last in one of them.

racer a alex best you get your little diamond in the rough built up then you no the one.

Could be the one Alex?,out of interest are you a gorgeous bird with big T*ts? ::) :2funny:

While staying the week at Brian B's house for a king of the skatepark contest I went with him to a photo shoot for Haro. A few of you may recognise the photo, some may even say it was an "iconic" photo(and no I am not going to define iconic).

Back in 1986 I went to ride at Carlo Griggs house and stayed the night and next day as well. I bought some Pringles "crisps" from RAF Croughton and gave them to Carlo. He absolutely loved them, apparently the UK didn't have pringles yet, he said he ate one everyday until they were all gone. He mentioned it again when I went to visit him last summer. :coolsmiley:
