1 Month to go and everything has come together very nicely indeed.
Stop 1 DP Factory
You do not need a DP all you need is a BMX

I have found a nice route from DP down to Flint castle ripping through some trails I used to ride with Glyn Lewis BITD. We will get some great pictures in the trails and at DP plus the Castle.
From Flint some people will be catching the train to Chester, for those that need thetrain the times are here.
12:00 Flint>Chester 12:14>14m
12:31 Flint>Chester 12:49>18m
13:00 Flint>Chester 13:15>15m
Stop 2
Chester Train Station @ 13:00- 13:30 This allows a gentle meet and greet and for people to get there on various trains.
The Party starts here with a few beers at the station pub
We will rip it along the cobbled streets to a great pub on the canal followed by a rip up the canal (no pushing any one in) and a small thrash on the Chester walls before heading into the city centre for some more great bars there, I will have a beach ball with me for some football in the cross, I am sure that at some point people will lose bikes to hotel rooms maybe at about 8pm and meet those with the bikes shortly after
If you need a hotel let myself or Dan a shout and we will let you know where most people are staying and cost? We will be sorting the bookings in early March.
At the moment we are expecting about 20 people in Flint meeting up with about a further 20-30 in Chester.
Anyone is welcome to come to Flint before with or without a DP it is an old school BMX day but new school is welcome as well.

A couple of the top bars we went into last year have welcomed us back with open arms here are a few worthy of special mention
Dan and I have been chatting with some boozers in the Walled City we went to last year, just to give them the heads up that we'll be rolling in,
Dan spoke to the Lisa from a new bar situated on the canal called the Lock Keeper, formerly known as the Frog and Nightingale.
They have recently had a major re-furb and outside is now a private area which will be suitable for bikes to be parked safely and in our case be displayed with pride.
Lisa said “That would be no problem at all. If you could give us a rough idea as to what time you will be arriving we would be happy to put a buffet on for you.”

If anyone wants me to sort out a Hotel or B&B for them, let me know, it's fairly easy for me to phone about etc as i'm a local...sort of. There are the usual Holiday Inn's/Travelodge type places but Hoole has loads of B&B's a mile or so from the City Centre. :daumenhoch:

My Mrs is just planning a pub route for us and to be fair has done a belting job, she's a Chester native and loves the odd glass of Vino Collapso so it was easy for her.
There's a few places on the canal that are good and can accom bikes then head back up into town and visit the pubs we did last year then a beachball frenzy on the cross. :daumenhoch:

I don't wanna dampen anyone's riding spirit but The Boneyard isn't all it's cracked up to be so i'm told. I've had friends who have tried to book it for their Son's Birthday's and can never get it booked as it's never open. ::)
Also, it's not in Chester, it's about 5 miles away in Tattenhall, in the middle of nowhere. :shocked:

Let's face it, Chester's a hairy ride full stop, with it's narrow walls and cobbles everywhere, them Roman's didn't think about us 40 year olds on kid's bikes during construction, obvious bellends imo. >:(

I'm looking at rooms myself, the place that Carl stayed last year is £95, I don't really want to spend that much so will be looking at alternatives. :-\
I'm not sure what you guys are like with Hotels, i'm not that fussy myself so all i'll be looking for is a room where I can get cleaned up, with a bed and somewhere to leave my bike, i'm not even bothered about breakfast as i'll get a Maccy's etc.
I'll be getting a double, so if anyone wants to bunk with me, dib it on here, i'll pay it and just sort me out on the day. :daumenhoch:

I have stressed to them the importance of our bike security and both have said this will not be a problem, all they need to know is numbers. I'm gonna go with the Belgrave I think, and my pal Snowy will bunk with me. If anyone else fancies this option, then post up on here and I can give the Hotel's numbers etc. Obviously if you want more luxury then there are other Hotel's at your choice.

I'm not sure if you are familiar with the pub, we were formerly known as the Frog and Nightingale and we are just a short cycle up the canal from Harkers (heading towards Frodsham Street). We have recently had a major re-furb and outside is now a private area which will be suitable for bikes to be parked safely and in your case be displayed with pride.

Stop 1 DP Factory
You do not need a DP all you need is a BMX
There are trains arriving @10:09 & 10:15 from either direction and there is a big carpark at Flint train station which makes meeting point 1 easy Flint train station at 10:15 for a gentle roll up to The old DP Factory @ 10:30 Sat Nav is CH6 5PG
I have found a nice route from DP down to Flint castle ripping through some trails I used to ride with Glyn Lewis BITD. We will get some great pictures in the trails and at DP plus the Castle.
From Flint some people will be catching the train to Chester, for those that need thetrain the times are here.

Stop 2
Chester Train Station @ 13:00- 13:30 This allows a gentle meet and greet and for people to get there on various trains.
The Party starts here with a few beers at the station pub
We will rip it along the cobbled streets to a great pub on the canal followed by a rip up the canal (no pushing any one in) and a small thrash on the Chester walls before heading into the city centre for some more great bars there, I will have a beach ball with me for some football in the cross, I am sure that at some point people will lose bikes to hotel rooms maybe at about 8pm and meet those with the bikes shortly after
If you need a hotel let myself or Dan a shout and we will let you know where most people are staying and cost? We will be sorting the bookings in early March.
At the moment we are expecting about 20 people in Flint meeting up with about a further 20-30 in Chester.
Anyone is welcome to come to Flint before with or without a DP it is an old school BMX day but new school is welcome as well.

Bit of an update on accomodation. ;)
I've booked 2 rooms at The Stafford Hotel on City Rd, spoke to a lady there called Lesley, she's doing a twin room at a rate of £50 which includes B&B. It's not a modern Hotel like you Holiday Inn's etc but it's cheap and right by the Station. :coolsmiley:
Nige B and Mani are in 1 room :-*, as they were the only ones really who contacted me about getting them a place, up to now, i'm on my own, but my mate Snowy has provisionally dibbed this.
The number to call Lesley on, should you wish to book also is, 01244326052, or if you like, I can do this for you. I've not paid any money yet, just given my card details to book.
She said there is a secure basement for the bikes too. :daumenhoch:

If i'm honest, it's shat, and not on street level, you'd need to carry all the bikes up 2 flights to get near the bar. :daumenhoch:

It will just make things easier for me and Brett as 'locals' to give people directions to the Station from their respective Hotels in the afternoon and getting them back there to dump bikes in the Evening. :daumenhoch:

Some people will lose there bikes back to the hotel and others will have them all night. All personal preference. Generally everyone will be in BMX until about 8pm :daumenhoch:

That's why I opted for that particular Hotel, I relax more on these rides at night once my bike's out of the way. It's a 5 min ride, a 10 min change and a 15 min walk back in to town from where we're staying. :daumenhoch:

FYI the Stafford is great value but only has double rooms left. As much as I like our Nick, I ain't sharing a double with him and his Winch Cable! :shocked:
The Holiday Inn currently wants a ton for a room which seems high to me. :-\

I'm at this place. It's only £35 for a single room including breakfast! With parking on site for your car and a locked room for your bikes. Only 10mins walk from the station. :daumenhoch:

Can we have some details on the meet up points and times. We could do with station names (as there are a couple in Chester apparently) and postcodes. Also the meet up postcode for the dp flint factory. How far is flint from Chester? I'm sure dan or Brett will be able to supply all this info. I know some times were posted somewhere earlier in this thread but I think it would be good to start another thread with just these details so you don't have to trawl through several pages to find out the useful info. Another idea I have. Can we add the road in which our b&b is in as it would be good to stick together when we decide to drop the bikes off and head back in either on foot or by taxi. As this to me makes sense. I'm hoping Brett and dan can suss out who is near who so numbers can be exchanged before next week. I'm staying at number 38 hoole road. There are trains arriving @10:09 & 10:15 from either direction and there is a big carpark at Flint train station which makes meeting point 1 easy Flint train station at 10:15 for a gentle roll up to The old DP Factory @ 10:30 Sat Nav is CH6 5PG

Chester Train Station @ 13:00- 13:30 This allows a gentle meet and greet and for people to get there on various trains.

So i'm gonna do a little sub-list here of people that are staying in Hotels and out in town afterwards. The reason for this is that Dave who's riding my DP on Sat is an ex-doorman in Chester and he may be able to pull a few strings getting us into bars, should we struggle due to numbers. :daumenhoch:
It also makes it easier for me to pick which bars/pubs we'll get in without hassle.

There's a Maccy's between the Station in Flint and the old DP factory, this will do for breakfast. There's a WH Smith's right next to the bar at Chester Station, for a sandwich etc, and i've just spoken to Lisa @ The Lock Keeper, she's gonna lay on some sarnies for us too. Polished silver tech 3 levers dated 84. Dibbed by kappy.
A load of dc blue cables also dated 84.
Nos mounting bolts with centreing springs front and rear for dc mx 1000 brakes. Mani has first dib dobs on these.
2008 mirraco blend light pro series frame. The top of the range mirraco that year. In mint repowdered condition. Powdered sky blue.
A polished 1"1/8th stem which was a prototype for Mosh
A polished twin 25.4 double seat clamp by fishbone.
2 nankai 48 hole free coasters. One is nos chrome the other used black.
Right hand black tech 77 lever that has all the fittings and cables for a twin cable system from the lever to the gyro. (this can be removed to fit on a left hand lever if you have one)
A modified twin bolt fusion seat clamp in black. With stainless bolts. The clamp has been milled out so it fits the new school size frames that run a 25.4 seat post. Originally it was for frames that run a 22.2 post.
Silver 1" tange headset lock nut and washer.
Like I said if anyone is interested in any of this stuff then drop me a pm and I will sort out a pic or 2.

I emailed the local paper, The Flintshire Leader whilst bored on nights and explained to them what we were up to on Sat, then got a call from a reporter called Matt Junes saying they were really interested in doing a story about us as DO Industries/racing were a local firm BITD, they're sending a photographer there at 11am on Sat. :coolsmiley:

Well I have eventually dragged myself out of bed again. Thankyou for all the kind comments in this thread :daumenhoch:
I had a fantastic day and night. This event was very special thanks to all the Radsters turning up we had almost 50 riders with us all day and the atmosphere was superb all day. The weather was very kind to us indeed ad seeing how long the trail of bikes were along the towpath of the canal was awesome :daumenhoch:

A bloody fantastic weekend in Chester. I was still buzzing about bmx this morning and needed more of a fix. So I went on a road trip this morning driving from Chester down to sandown park race course in Surrey for the cool flow vw show! Another great day was had there. Then a drive home to Bedford. 300 miles in one day. I must be fooking mad! :LolLolLolLol: :daumenhoch:

Sounds like you had an awesome day out - gutted I didn't make it. Ended up driving to Leicester to pick up a new TV for my dad's birthday present then down to Birmingham to see him, back to Sheffield to drop the wife and kids off then back to Leicester to ride at the Boardroom before a quick 4hr kip before back to dealing with my crazy kids so a day out with you lot would have been a picnic in comparison...... ;-(
There is a noticeable ansense of totty on the pics so far gents..... Was Joff not on form then? No scratch & sniff saddle action for him then.......?

There was a distinct lack of totty all day Spen :( ,I did have a go , just picked the wrong group ..... they were so far up there own arses it was untrue ::) or maybe it was the fact they just didn't like my Ripper and prefered the old Robo :-\ Anyway, one blowout was enough and I promptly went and drowned my dented pride with Vodka :D :LolLolLolLol:
