So who we got here thats a master of metal as i got a F & F that needs some TLC.
-
wot appears to be the problem mr muttley :daumenhoch:
-
donker is ya man for metal work ....he did a pukka job on rhys ripper
Dave
-
Dave,
Can he do whatever is needed to prep a rust pitted frame prior to chroming?
ta
Paul
-
missfits welded me diamond back up perfect and donker is good on alloy to
as the pitting metal needs to be blasted then polished
-
Right then what i got is a Quadangle with a slight kink in the head tube, landing gear with damaged dropouts and the rears look a bit iffy too, can it be saved :-\
-
donker your man as he did rhys ripper and did a great job
-
hello men,
if its an alluminium frame then no probs mate, but itll have to be in a few wks as im still trying to finish off my school work and have final deadline at end of month.
if its steel, ill buy her off you if you get no joy in repairing it.
cheers
:Great_Britain:
-
if its steel mate not a problem if its ally i dont want to buy it off ya :LolLolLolLol:
-
missfits, im absolutely horrified at your presumptions and will leave the site forever if you call me names again.
on a serious note, my welder is awsome with aluminium, replicating se type welds all day long, but we dont do much steel at work and he has offered to have a go, however i wouldnt let him loose on somebody elses stuff in case he melts it. and of course i want a quad.
kossak

-
cheers stuntmaster,
get the race-inc finished fella, it certainly deserves to be in the museum. :smitten:
-
Hmmm now i am gonna sound like a reet proper amatuer :idiot2: Steel or Ally hmmm now then its in a reet friggin state paint wise so i suppose strippin and looking at the finish will reveal an obvious answer i take it???
-
If its an old school quad then it will either be cro-mo ( rare ) or Renolds 531 tubing :daumenhoch:
-
Yeah its an old one for sure, unstamped Landing Gear, think its an 83.
-
rule of thumb is alluminium isnt magnetic whereas cromo, 531, and mild steel all are....small fridge magnet is what you need
i think
Dave
-
was gonna say the same dave if a magnet wont stick is ally :daumenhoch:
-
Will check but she needs tlc, be good to get her back together again.
-
and did it stick or fall off :LolLolLolLol:
