Title: suzuki bmx
Post by: spleen1970 on December 10, 2009, 04:34 PM: any one seen one of these before i have worked on suzuki motorcycles for 24 years & i only found out the other day that bitd they made bmx,s . so i spoke to my suzuki technical rep who said leave it with me any way got a phone call yesterday to say there,s a prezzy for me at work came in this morning to find this

what do you think? needs a bit of work its been fitted with a three speed hub so i need a large flange sr rear hub in black if any ones got one :daumenhoch:
should i restore it or leave & just clean it up
gonna need some parts as well will post a wanted soon

i will try and get the stuff scanned sometime this weekend for you and post it here although me and the girlfriend are both useless at using the scanner so dont hold your breath! :LolLolLolLol:

Post by: spleen1970 on December 10, 2009, 08:46 PM: can anyone post some piccy,s of it so i have a refrence to work to as some of the parts have been changed ie levers ,rear hub (which is a stermi archer three speed at mo) the seat i put on as im sure the one that came on it was wrong .
im thinking of stripping of the anno as it,s fadded badly & polishing ? i think it would clean it right up what do you guys recon or do you think i will spoil it .

Nicky Matthews & Kevin Hay(n)es used to ride for them bitd.

Not the best picture but this is a picture of Kevin whilst riding for Suzuki on the right behind Dave Morris and me at Bournemouth in 1985. I will see if I can make better tomorrow.

I was bought a Suzuki Tanto for my 5th birthday.. and started racing at western Park in Leicester.

Leicester BMX club, still have the throphy's. Remember it very well ;D at the start gate "riders ready, pedals ready, GO"

It was quite a big event as i can remember, wilth at proper racing gate to start and tanoy calling the riders age group's.

Does anyone remember the Leicester BMX club, or the Suzuki TanTo , My Mum said it cost about £135. that was back in the day PRICEY

HAte to say it being from Derby an all but Western was one hell of a track, never really as high profile as Cocks Moor or Chesterfield but on a par with them, shame its gone.
