is there any other way of re-lacing a rim as i have followed the diagrams listed on the (how to) section. it seems as if the spokes are too long but they are the same size as the ones i have taken out. :-[ please help :-\

I take it you are using the same diametre hubs , ie large flange or small flange as this will obviously make a diference :D If you are and the spokes you have bought are the same length as the originals there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to lace it . Otherwise as Glen says you need to know whether to lace it 3 or 4 cross.
What rims are they ? what hubs Large flange , small flange ? what are the lenght of the spokes you took out ? From this I should be able to tell you what lacing pattern you have, 3 cross or 4 cross :daumenhoch:
