Hi,
I am in the Market for some chrome rims,
what's the best chrome rims to get?
I know most pit or peel,
as this forum has a lot of riders thought I would ask!
Cheers Gary

It seems there isn't a top quality chrome rim anymore sadly. My Primo Hula Hoops held up ok, and I'm running an Alien Nation rim at the mo which is holding up, although it's not getting a lot of work out of me lately. It's not going to last I'm sure, but they are cheap....
Couple of people on here rate the Hoffman Generator rim, but I have no experience of them myself.
Everything else seems to bubble at the bat of an eyelid.

Alex Supra G :daumenhoch: best chrome rim i've ever ran, not a big fan on 'em really :-\
-
See now, there you go. Everyone has differing experiences. In my eyes, Alex rims never help up at all. Especially those poxy Supra E's....
Am I right in saying the G was the top of the range?
-
Was thinking of getting coloured rims but think chrome
is the way?
-
I think the 'G' was the top of the line :-\ and dont worry im also not a fan of the 'E' ::) its just too big! and i think Alex is the way if your on a budget :daumenhoch:
-
Now those squishy clear brake blocks are about you can run a coloured rim and have a brake that works, so no, chrome doesn't have to be the way these days.
I like 'em though :)
-
supra g is the 2nd in the range i belive ... they are fookin super tho ...
but if u want a strong rim get a hazard lite or gsport ribcage but i would say the chrome on the alex supra g is thick as an irish piss head :P :4_17_5: :LolLolLolLol: :D ;D
-
I'll agree with Mike... i've never seen a Supra G peel or flake :daumenhoch:
-
My back wheel is the one off a 2008 wtp trust - alex something or other. No bubbles, cracks, flakes or bends in 18 months so I would say its ok.
-
my sun rims are good chrome and also my alienation are also good chrome so far
-
not Odyssey hazards, my rear is probably a couple of years old, but never been out in the rain, kept indoors etc etc
and it's bubbling up.
-
My rear rim is a primo 7005 in chrome, its 2 years old now and still like new... :daumenhoch:
Mostly riding indoor parks, outdoors if its nice but it hasnt been used in any shite weather
-
Cheers for the comments guys,
it will all help towards my new wheel set
merry Xmas
-
I've been using a primo pro rim on the rear for two years, indoor and outdoor and it's stool going strong in chrome. So good that I've just Got my new wheelset with chrome front and rear primos
-
yep the pimo rim is standing the test of time hands down on most others.
odyssey rims bubble before you even get a spoke in them.
