Title: Please look out for these.
Post by: southern andy on December 26, 2009, 10:28 AM
We had a Specialized Hemi BMX and a Scott Reflex MBK stolen last night from the shed.

The Specialized looks like this below but without the blue bits as Reece's were black.

and the Scott was this one but had a Shimano Hollow crank on it. Also the rear sprocket or hub was shagged as it freewheeled at first but pedalled eventually but still wasn't good.

Obviously i will be checking Ebay but can any Rad Members please let us know if you see any of these pop up in your local 2nd hand bike shop.

Thankfully Reece has a spare going to school BMX as we hauled that Haro out of a skip a few weeks ago.

 :LolLolLolLol:

It's the irony of it all that makes me laugh, i collected bikes for the Ratty fund, stripped them and posted them all over England only to get a couple of ours stolen a few days later.

We are insured for this sort of thing but the Excess always hits you and to be honest i could probably replace the MBK in the sales for the same sort of price. The Hampshire police and the insurance company are aware though.

It sounds like the work of young opportunist thieves to me - I bet the urchins who took them are only a few streets away.  I hope they turn up. :knuppel2:

Good news, it must be thukin Christmas or something.   :4_17_5:

We've only gone and got them both back. I think Ozone above was spot on as they were found in a local stream about 300yds from my house. They had been just dumped in there. They certainly weren't in there at 11.00 this morning as we crossed that bridge this morning to get round the mother in laws. Returning back tonight at 10.00 there they were. I'm absolutely gobsmacked and never thought i'd see them again.

I've just phoned the police to let them know that they have been recovered.

Personnally i think it was someone from Reece's school that knicked them and when they saw the BMX in daylight, they realised who's it was and there was no way they could then use it for school themselves.

Seriously can't beleive it.
