Title: E.T. image now recreated

Post by: Swivel on January 07, 2010, 11:04 AM: After a bit of research I actually found the moon image that Universal Studios used for this iconic shot, so downloaded it in high res and went to work to recreate the image in a 300dpi high resolution. Has only taken about 45 minutes but its super crisp now and ready for me canvas print. Thanks to Paul for the image he sent over, it enabled me to view the bike closer up and those spokes! Anyway hope you like it. Here's a cut down version of the larger image.

The moon looks great but maybe need a bit more glow around it with some gaussian blur. Maybe try resampling the trees too :daumenhoch:

Sorry to be a picky fooker.... just have an eye for detail thats all ::)

Post by: Swivel on January 07, 2010, 01:43 PM: Cheeky, different versions of the image is all around the web, I didn't aim to recreate the one above exactly, but instead I used different ones for reference, some showed the bike with highlights, some not, but as it was going to be printed big, the highlighted ones just were'nt clear enough hence going for solid black like the ones below. Each example on the web varied in colour and brightness. Some examples below... but as I said, it was for my benefit only for my office.
