Finnaly got the last parts to get this Mongoose completed
Many NOS parts and some hard to get bits like the Blue Tuff II with Alloy Hubs
Was very pleased to get one of the masks like they used in the film and helmet to go with it, even has a couple of original parts off the bike out the film :)
The Diamond Back and Mongoose are reunited again 8)

That is a proper labour of love that mate, them tuffs look mint, are they refurbed or just lamb Gravy ?
Well done they look as good as i bet you hoped they would :4_17_5:
-
The Blue Tuffs are poor condition, they have more chips, scrapes n scratches than any tuffs I've seen yet seller said there was only one mark on one spoke >:(
I've had to replace the bearings and spindle also, polished the hubs, cleaned all the brake rub off and sprayed with WD40, but they look good at a distance now
I really like how the Mongoose turned out :)
-
Nice one - I watched the movie around Christmas with my kids LOL. Top effort there!
What about Nicole Kidman's ride now?
-
Excellent work, those bikes had to be replicated one day, who hasn't seen them on a screen BITD ?
-
Juicy Goosey :daumenhoch:
-
love it
crackin pair of builds :daumenhoch:
-
Very nice build :daumenhoch: It's hard doing BMX Bandit builds as they changed parts in different shots, like for example at the beginning the Goose has blue Grab-On's and then goes on to have blue Mongoose grips and at the beginning the Diamond Back has Shimmy DX's but then when they're riding and doing their own thing, its has Diamond Back footjaws, but those Skyways do look the dogs :smitten:

Cheers everyone, I'm really pleased with the Mongoose.
I wanted to get everything spot on, brake cables not crossed, I bought the decal set from the guys in the USA, though they use so many different bits you would need about 3 different sets. I sent them a message and they threw in the team prismatic fork ones and the red bands round the seat stays for free, so top marks to them 8)
A few have aksed about the 3rd bike :) yes I have started to get parts, I wanted to do it for the girlfriend to ride on occasion. I have got a NOS SuperMax frame, tange forks, Full Shimano brake set, Grab on Grips, Win V-Bars, extra long seatpost :) yellow skyways but they are used...oh and some tyres. So on the look out for nitto stem, and what ever the chain ring/crank is, gold shimano dx and yellow aero kashimax
