Title: Old school / Mid school Haro Group 1 Race Mix
Post by: Faze7-Ade on January 07, 2010, 10:09 PM
My son has out grown his 16in Redline Pit Boss, but didn't want a skinny rim mini race bike. He was well chuffed at picking up a bargin or two at MK09, including the Haro Group 1 Elite alloy race frame.

Along with spending his birthday money, he's been doing odd jobs for me to try to raise the cash to buy all the parts he needs to get it going, but didn't get too far (everything is so expensive when you're 8 years old !). He was thinking it would never get done.

So for Christmas, he got the remaining parts to complete it as presents from family & friends (and I put it together Christmas Eve in secret). So you can imagine how surprised he was one Christmas morning to find the whole bike waiting for him to unwrap.

As you'll see, it's a bit of a mix of old school, mid school and new bits, to keep the price and weight down within reason, and hopefully he'll only need to change the bars and put longer cranks on when he gets bigger. Just need the snow to clear for him to get a decent ride on it at Chicksands.

A huge thanks to Del for working his magic on the stickers, which he made in custom colours for me.

The only thing we're thinking of changing are the tioga fork stickers which don't seem to match the other colours on the bike.....what do you think ???

nice one Ade, bet he's well pleased! Glad to have helped with the decals, they didnt come out too bad considering what we had to work with.

Get some pics of him riding it when the snow clears!  :daumenhoch:

Sweet build - the young 'un must be doing his mind not being able to ride it.

Thats it then - the original stickers are officially pants and need to go.

Mrs Faze7-Ade has been nagging me since I got the forks that the sticker colours were all wrong, but what does she know about BMX ? Better not let her see this !!
