has anyone had it done and what was the result like ,,,,,thinking of getting my gt done ,,,,had some black chrome bars bitd :smitten:

Yep Glen, FMHReader on here does it, puts a smoke laquer over chrome and it is very good :daumenhoch:

hi paul so is that a paint laquer over the chrome ,,,,,,,,,,is there a process where the black chrome is applied like normal chrome

Probably Glen, but i think its just some additive thats added to the chrome before applying, i aint sure on that like. I have had a Proclass and a CW done of Mark and it does look superb :daumenhoch:

yep found a man who will do it £350 for a f&f and he said it needs to be minty

I had a Hatta MX2 chrome headset black chromed. It was a special process and the guy was able to do it because he still had some of the chrome mix left from another job.
It's quite pricey - he told me it wasn't great for anything but a show bike as the black chrome isn't as protective as normal chrome.
However, it looks superb. Kind of has a purple tinge to it under certain lights and looks nothing like paint/powder. Also, it won't chip and I found it a very durable finish.

i'v got a painted frame that im thinking of having done ,,,so its a strip polish ,,then black chrome jobby ,,,,,,,,,,,mind you at £350 ,,,im wondering if its worth it :-\
you dont see many survivor black chrome gt's around do you ::)

well i got the seat post, bars, and forks just need to find the frame now, have seen a few in the states, they go for £450 to £800 ish
