I use caustic soda granules with hot water. Don't breath in the fumes, Don't get it on your skin and don't leave the parts in the caustic soda for too long or else it will eat away at the aluminium.

hmmmmmm. anyone ever stripped araya aeros in silver?
i done a hub and a rim last night, hub come out spot on took off all black anno and it polished up a treat.
however, the rim didnt do buggerall.
left it in for about hour and a half and still looked the fecking same apart from the exposed alloy had discoloured a bit.
