Autosol and a big tub of elbow grease :daumenhoch:

how polished?
for a half decent shine you can get it with a good cutting compound/peek and a kitchen scourer, and then a soft cloth to buff...
For bling, bling mirror, send it to custom or Ncus.... coz you need the buffing wheels etc, various compounds and a far bit of time and skill..
if you did want to get into this, you need decent grinder (bench) that you can convert, to have the polishing wheels and then have a play.
lots of stuff you can download on compound grades etc on the net.
:daumenhoch:
oh and be careful, coz you can snap/break your thumbs on the wheels if you do not do feed the item in correctly whilst the wheel is spinning at silly speeds.. :D

As Sid says above - you need a wheel for bling-a-ding-ding shine..........
If you don't want blingy bling mirror finish then like Peter says autosol and elbow grease is all you need ;)
These just had a light 2 minute rub over with autosol and a clean rag as I wanted a similar finish to how they would have been :)
Started off scratched and scuffed gold - stripped with oven pride ;)
Could do with new hardware really but they're for a rider :)

Best polish on the market...
http://www.amazon.com/Mothers-05106-Billet-Metal-Polish/dp/B000COU7LG
Second best...
http://www.amazon.com/BlueMagic-400-Metal-Polish-Cream/dp/B000BO8Z9I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1263703331&sr=1-1
Both provide an amazing shine. I've used the Blue Magic polish on my brake levers and dayyam do they shine!
