Title: BB size?

Right I've bought some threaded bar and washers but can someone tell the diameter of a US BB shell so I can be sure they're big enough?

the o/d of a us BB shell is 56mm,so some where in that region should do

Just measured my Champions BB and external is 58mm, it is chromed so maybe a bit thicker than Hutchmans.
