What is the correct gearing (i.e. number of teeth) for a 24" Cruiser?
I understand these are usually 44 (front) and 16 (rear) on a BMX, however the wheels on my cruiser are considerably larger (4" in fact!) ;)
I was wondering whether a different number of teeth was the standard for a 24"-er.
I don't need to race it or anything (just street) but don't want to be pedalling like mad. :idiot2:
Let me know what you think.
Cheers.

36-16 on a 24"is quite close to 44-16 on a 20"

I ran 41-18 in 2008 then 40-17 first part of 2009 but was to hard so went 39-17 for a while before settling on 37-16 which is about half a tooth up from 39-17 i think.

Can you send me a PM with cost posted for the 17T freewheel.
If it's NOS no need to include pics (it's a freewheel right!!)
Cheers.
