just got this from the standard website, its not gyro friendly but for all the new kids riding with the stem slammed on the headset this is the bollox. lovely bit of machining going on!
The Overload, an industry first
With the Over Load you can remove the dust cap of your integrated headset and the stem will sit directly on top of your bearing, acting as the top cap. This eliminates the need for the cap and drops the stem to about the same height as a front load style stem. This offers a clean and sleek look for any bike.

nice, looks clean,
recess for the topcap is a cool touch too :smitten:

Looks nice and sleek, But whats the point in dropping the stem when everyone seems to be making and running taller bars?
Like the recessed top cap especially.

Dont like it. I think top load stems look rubbish. And whats the point of buying taller bars and then lowering the stem by an inch? :idiot2:

Nice looking stem. Classic standard look to it.

So you can use big bars, even if you are too small to need them :crazy2: :LolLolLolLol:
I dont like top load stems either but it seems like more people are using them now, and that does make sense if you want your grips higher.

Funny isn't it? I've only ever liked toploading stems, and would never run a frontloader....
I like this stem. Very tidy look to it when fitted.
