I only remember Mushrooms on my 3 bikes, they didnt blister my thumbs as easy as AME and Oakleys always seemed to fall apart, but they dont look to good on a Ultimate race bike so im gonna go for Oakley B1b's as they do look the bollacks

Johar Rad Grips.

With a replacable soft spongy outer, they were the first upgrade from acme cam profile copies on my Pirahana that gave me mlisters.   Or Oakley f1's as one of the first multi part grip combo which could be obtained in such a wide variety of coulours as to be able to match anyones bike.

Although I do remember mushrooms - the magazines were mad for them when they came out, but I couldn't see the attraction myself.

But then, what about cobra grips - really comfy, and pre date all the above, - were oem on early pro star and very early silver streaks.  Didn't get on with them as you could really only have your hand in one position.

All the kids round our way wanted Mushies (ODI has a cooler logo than the SM) :daumenhoch:
As an iconic design I think Tange grips must be worth a mention ;)
(I'm not sure if there was some connection to the similar OGK design though)  ???

I do like a Unitron but I find them hard on my delicate hands. Look great and hard wearing and tons of colour combo's. A'me Duals worth a mention in that respect also.

I've not ridden in years but would you have different choices for gloved / un-gloved hands? Unitron with a glove yes, without no. Same with F1's the formula is quite hard. B1B and B2 got a nice soft formula. .5's are a bit smooth, not too grippy.

I remember Rounds not being too bad for blisters. Never liked mushrooms.

Hutch grips always got a bad press, but they're quite thin and feel quite close to the bars. Tough compound again though.

Can I suggest Oakley O-Wing grips...?  I mean come on...they gave them away free with almost every order in the old BMX magazines...!!!  Now you can't find a black set for less than $300...!!!

 :D
