-
Voted.
Very nice builds gents :coolsmiley:
-
my vote is in...really hard to call this one as nothing between them and two stunning bikes I would be proud to own either one :daumenhoch: :4_17_5: 8) :smitten:
-
All very pretty guys but is it really worth voting for a bike that will never be ridden and just sit in someones lounge as a trophy to nothing more than an over zealous wage packet ?
Its not art its a machine to enjoy, the craftsmanship that went into building these beauties should be enjoyed in the arena they were designed for ! !
Ride ride ride I say you polishers of chrome !
Well what a first post - it's not down to wages it's about passion and a hobbie to enjoy
You don't have to vote and don't need to post negative comments either thanks :daumenhoch:
-
my votes in but i think they both deserve one of these :4_17_5:

25 year old antiques, pieces of art, bmx bikes for riding, shit for the skip...all different points of view on the same suject matter...
so i say, fook right off, and thats from a polisher of chrome..
opinions eh, like hedgehogs...or summet like that.
my votes in.
-
Singlespeeder...why cant you accept that just cos you wanna ride, that some people just enjoy the challenge of restoring something that may have had a long history and then just want to preserve it for future generations to enjoy...money has nothing to do with it...passion does...its being different that makes us all so interesting! :idiot2: :knuppel2: :tickedoff:
-
Do not feed the trolls.
-
both goegeous............hard choice but votes in :daumenhoch:
-
mmmmmmmmm?
Gold rims were still cool in the early eighties b4 Ultra burners made them mainstream, diggin the rarity value as I've never seen a Patterson in the flesh; is the stem a taunt to the competition?
A set of Aerospeeds on the Hutchins would settle it easy tho........I'm gonna have another look, again!
-
The Hutch did it for me (somehow - BITCH to choose:) The cranks settled it actually plus I have a Pro Racer w/ an assortment of scratched up parts that I would rebuild today if $ allowed it now. BOTH BEAUTFUL bikes that AGAIN I COULD KICK MY OWN ASS for NOT payin 'better" attention to back in "the day" :'( ...
-
Both absolute stunners. I had the honour of riding with DB's Patterson on the Xmas ride out, however the Hutch is fantastic too...well done both of you. I'll have a bud then will cast my vote,
Well done both of the contestants again

few new peeps suddenly popping up on the site, could they be americans casting votes ? surely Atari wouldn't get his mates to join just to vote ? na its to far fetched , just my imagination running wild again

WoW...I'm a little hurt by that statement. I'm pretty sure anyone on any of the sites could attest to my character and know that I would never ask anyone to vote for one of my bikes...nor have I ever asked anyone too.
If I had voted for my own bike in the initial voting...I actually would have won by one vote...LOL. See for yourself below.

Hey Neil...well then...you know that I am partial to anything Rupe... :daumenhoch: .
I mean seriously though...the amount of work you put into that bike. Taking a Cali/Expert f/f and well....you know the rest. I find myself searching this old thread out every now and then. I love the before and after pics of all the work done to each component.

Two very nice builds , good luck to both of you :daumenhoch:

Interesting replies people.....obviously struck a chord ? Granted we are all different, and I do appreciate your interests all the same. But for me wheels are for riding.
If I had a choice both would win for all the work gone into them, but a winner would be the one that gets ridden, it has more soul. :4_17_5:
Am I being negative ? :)
-
Lovely bikes but my vote is now in :4_17_5:

i think a bike thats built and unridden has soul too , the personal choices peeps make on parts etc , plus some are built cause thats what they had when younger , thats part of their history

Not just negative a bit naive also, some of the bikes on here are way to fragile and expensive to ride. Having a bike to ride is ace and most of us do have one, but bikes that are very rare cannot be ridden as they were intended as they could break and if you owned it you would be gutted.

Sean he has a point though as do you, how about a new category in next years BOTY, a rider category, any bikes built this year to race with.
Should be a bit different, i hold my hands up and say yeah i would'nt ride the bikes i have as like you said too expensive, but a cheap rider build could be interesting in next years competition.
