That Crupi stem I sold tonight got me thinking... I dont mix in big BMX circles so dont often speak (as in talk) to BMX'y people very often. As a result, I sometimes find ive spent my life pronouncing some of the names of bikes and parts wrong.
For instance, is Crupi pronounced 'Croopi' - how I'd say it or is it a shorter u like 'krupi'?
What about decal? For some reason I always used to say 'deecal' but more recently have starting using 'dekal'.
And is Haro pronounced 'Harrow', 'High-ro' or 'Hair-o'
And one that always gets me is A'me. Is it said like the girls name 'Amy' or some other wierd pronunciation?
Theres loads more, but that'll do for starters. Feels free to add you own and we can all have a bit of fun and get on the same wavelength for a change...lol

tange. in holland they call it tan-g as in the g from girl. first time somebody said tange as in flange it sounded so wrong.
i've heard decal pronounced both ways.
read this for more info, according to wiki it's only a decal if it's a transfer  anything else is a sticker.

The Haro ones a good one, the first time I saw a haro bike was on the the cover of a BMX mag when I was about 7 but the angle of the picture was taken at was obscured and made the O look like a D. It spent the next few years thinking they were Hard bikes! :-[ (what a fooktard!)

Joining the bmx scene few years ago like you the poster of this thread doesnt hang around in the bmx scene to get to speak bmx anyway you know the words Mk1 and Mk2 BURNERS right well :-[ :-[ i call them by the name of saying EM KAY ONE burners or EM KAY TWO burners INSTEAD of saying Mark 1 or Mark 2 god am fooking cringing right here. My cousin whos in his late 30s caught me out when i mentioned here you know M K 1 blahh he pi ssed himself laughing ever since :-[ so i have trained myself and it was hard getting into the habit of saying MARK 1 or MARK 2........
