Paul & Glen............... P!ss off  :yahoo_silent:  :-* :LolLolLolLol:

Dean / Joff - I just put the main body of the stem and the bolts in white wine vinegar for 24 hours and then gave it a rub down with scrunched up tinfoil  ;) The blocks just got a very quick rub down with autosol and need a bit more TBH. I may yet do a full resto on it but I wanted to clean it up and see what was left of the gold on the stem - quite surprised what was underneath all the rust and happy with it for now  :)

I take it that's neil's handy work above ?

That gold laquer finish he's used looks a pretty good match.

I stripped this Kashi clamp down with a big hammer for one of the bolts as it was rusted solid. Left it in vinegar for well over a WEEK (doh! I forgot about it) - stank like a bitch when I took the lid off, but 5mins on Hootshi's polishing mop and hey presto....... the power of household chemicals is once again revealed :daumenhoch:

Nice stem btw Jonnygoose - liking it a lot. Doesn't look very lightweight mind....... :2funny:
