Post by: JG on February 15, 2010, 01:58 PM
Hello Everyone  :daumenhoch:

Right im working on a copy of a Skyways BMX and it's coming on nicely i must say,iv had a bit of trouble getting parts etc but apart from that going well.

I did find someone on Ebay selling retro bits and came to a agreement on a freewheel rear cog i sent payment by cash in post, and when i emailed the person they said they never got the cash but i did send it so be careful there user name is ROCKCHICK_1  :Aresehole:

But anyway here are a few pictures of it what do you think ??

My friend is also doing a StreetBeater Copy  :coolsmiley:

I don't use Biagio / Vert-Ego / Rockchick_1 very often, mainly due to pricing.....BUT..... if I am desperate for a specific part and he has it then it's good to know he is there - his prices are often very high but his service (for me at least) has always been spot on and I certainly don't think he is going to steal from you - he's a shop FFS ! he want's repeat custom !

I do think sending cash in the post is pretty naive though - think of all the hands it has to pass through - I think the blame for your lost money may lie elsewhere  :-X  ::)

Good luck with the build - and lose that braced seatpost  :-X :LolLolLolLol:

if you are sending cash in the post you should ALWAYS send it special delivery, you cannot expect biagio to send you the goods if the money has gone missing....

Just Cut it...if you sit on it at the way it is now you will be putting too much stress on the frame, sure if you ask nicely someone on here will have an old chromo post they will donate or hand over for the price of a bag of chips.

Hello i was told when i brought the frame and folks is was a 80's Releigh.

Well I know a fair bit about Raleigh's (not seen many Releigh's though  :D)

If you post up some decent pictures of the frame incl. drop outs.. I can tell you for sure.

If its oval tubing and there is an 'R' cut out in the rear drop outs then its a MK2 Burner... but squinting at your pictures all I can see is a little triangle and what looks to be a brace between the chainstays at the rear of the BB... if thats the case it aint NO Burner.

Post by: JG on June 15, 2010, 01:06 PM
Yes it has triagles cut out in the frame and the front forks have 3 holes in line .

It also has numbers stamp on the frame under the crack housing.

What frame do you think it is ?

Crack House? where do you live?

The pics are too small to make a positive ID but the drop outs look like AKISU style...

dropouts remind of 1983 Akisu or Raleigh DXR
backstays and brake mount (?) look a lot like 1983 Raleigh R2500  ---which, again, has no oval tubing  :-\

guess i need to find me a crack housing
