Was looking in a old mag 85' and spotted this - now as far as i know no one has brought this up so far - the Tange frame that we know as a Aero Pro / Rhino charge ? and a couple of tange hot hearts
in museum
well how about the Rattlesnake pro with power twist?
made by Tange and as far as i can see is the same frame as the Aero with the thicker bottom on the seat tube
Any one remember it ?
here's the pic's

Tange apparently made a load of frames that appeared in different clothes but were effectively the same thing.
Saying that are the tubes oval or round and I'm not sure they all had that Powertwist going on.
I like it though man, whatever. Looks tough :daumenhoch:
(not sure about the seat post mind).
-
looked like a very well specced bike... apart from the seat post, bars look a bit suspect as well.
-
I found these on the Museum (apparently no stamped model number).
Look like a Landing Gear style cut with Tange stamp on the bottom:

Tange made the Aero pro and the Rhino charge II & III with the thicker bottom to the seat tube and kuwi and hotheart frame with the same geomerty/ rear dropouts but with a straight seat tube
-
Tange Mega Force forks?

This one looks like it's got round top / down tubes (rather than Aero) to house the Powertwist gubbins.
The more I look the more I like it.
-
I couldn't really tell weather the tubes are tear dropped or not in the pic's - hard to see ???,and never was sure what the power twist was :D
found it strange that no one has heard or memories of this bike - as the Aero pro was well sold ???
-
The track where the test is shot (Bird in Bush) is where Peckham BMX Club's current track is.
-
Tange Mega Force forks?
Great forks, beefy legs and thick dropouts :daumenhoch:
-
luv the spec apart from those sh*t bars
-
I thought the lay back was a bit extreme :uglystupid2:
-
AND THE PRICE!!right up there with the big boys.i was only looking at the same test from abbmx on wednesday night, weird
-
so if it was up there with the big boys - why are there none about or no one remembers then ?

I doubt that they sold many at that price.
It would help if we had any info on the company and see when they folded.

I've been looking into Tange bikes for a while and dug this up.
It looks to me as if this is a re-badged Schauff Anaconda Pro Powertwist (with Schauff Rattlesnake decals).
Probably bought in as complete bikes from Germany rather than sourcing the parts direct from Japan, hence the price.
There's a few here as well: http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/schauff/ :coolsmiley:

 How much??
In 1985 I got my Aero Pro Team Burner and I think it was around £250 and that was expensive...I think a Harry Leary Turbo was around the £350 mark. £400 is a lot of cash for a bike now let alone in 1985 (or am I just tight ;D )
-
from what has been said in the past, it's the frame we know, and the name they had dictated the spec they had.
-
Nice bit of digging there for some good info 8)
so if that bike was so exspencive in Germany, what where the rest of the prices for bmx like there ? as the aero pro was as said £250 and a good bike (burner haters go put a finger up yer bum ;D) but the rattle snake was not heard of much and haven't seen any say the had one - i need to find a old stock of rattle snakes or anaconda's and re-decal them as Aero pros ;D
-
Schauff also used the Tange frames we know better over here as Tioga Rhino Charge and Rhino III 8) :daumenhoch:
Unfortunately no Aero tubing on any of the top tubes for an AP replica :(
