Just won this on the bay, needs a fair bit of tidying up but I think its a good investment due to its rarity. Now to find a bashguard plate for it.....
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230444303521&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
-
That looks good :daumenhoch: I'm sure I've seen the bashguard plates on ebay as well.
-
Like it :daumenhoch:
Seen some plates for a BG Sport on eBay but guess they're no good ???
Look forward to seeing it come together.
-
Thanks guys, yeah the plates on ebay are for the Sport model, I'll stick a wanted thread up for one. :daumenhoch:
-
Or cut up a plastic breadboard :LolLolLolLol:
-
nice one
rare due to the fact it hadn't cracked and been chucked in a skip like nearly every other 89/90 master!!
-
nice score Robbo! i really like the early 90's Haros.......one thing you might find though is that the fork dropouts are an annoying 12mm, so you'll need to have a word with SE-Bmxer to see if he's got some top hat washers for you :daumenhoch:
-
i know of some front haro pegs that maybe for sale for those forks :daumenhoch:
-
I need a set of those and been looking for about a year! let me know if you don't want em Robbo (seeing as you've been told about em first) :daumenhoch:

I dont think it will fit, been looking at pics and the Master one folds round the end of the downtube and screws in differently. :(
Good news is that a dude in Oz has some repro graphics for it available!
-
That's cool Robbo :daumenhoch:
Those early 90s Haro decals are a fooker to get hold of >:(
-
been having a tinker with my 91 Master (dumped all the new school parts and gone more era correct) :daumenhoch:
changed levers to 77's and the brakes to an AD990 rear and bulldog front, also the tyres to some bearfeet and the fusion chainwheel :daumenhoch:

need to change the seat for a Haro one now :daumenhoch:
-
That looks a lot like the master a guy i used to ride with back in the day had. He had a bashguard sport before that, smashed the hell out of it though, as we all did back then, I think it was well twisted by the time he was done with it!
-
nice '91 master mate -i agree it does look better more era correct :daumenhoch: always liked those haro's ,must keep me eye out for one now
-
Pickle, your bike looks 100% better like that!!! :4_17_5:
-
Did you manage to get any decals for it Glen? They're like rocking horse poo!
-
Cheers mate, speak to Stodgy regarding cables and maybe SE-Bmxer for the other bits?? :daumenhoch:
-
Finally arrived today, paint work is tatty but Im really pleased with the condition of the frame. Before it goes to Dan I want to get some paint stripper on the back end of the frame as I think the original chrome is still intact.
The kneesavers which are apparently the originals seem to sweep back further than my NOS ones I have on the wifes bike, they have the chevrons on the bottom tube so Im wondering if these are the 'first versions' and the later ones are different??
I can take some more pictures if required....

yea thats going to look sweet! IS IT a rider or a show bike?
Rider for sure!!! :daumenhoch:
-
That's cool Rob......looking forward to seeing this put together mate :daumenhoch:
-
The kneesavers got more and more sweptback as we went into the 90s I think.. remember the "how-to" in ride (Invert????) of rob ridge simply jumping on a set to get them less swept back? Plus the old trick of hammering an axle into the bars to prevent bending. christ bikes were ShIT really weren't they?
-
Nice frame :daumenhoch:
Those bars did bend easily! I also did that old trick but used some smaller diameter tubing down each end to try & beef them up after they turned into chopper bars
-
The more I look at the bars I think one end is more bent than the other, if I cant get them looking right I'll use my other pair on this build.
-
early kneesaver`s were nearly straight on the ends and over the years they put a sweep on them .

Cheers mate :daumenhoch:
-
if you do get some stickers for that 90`s haro let us know as my friend has one and he needs stickers as well for his .
here mine that i had for years and nearly sold for a 100 quid when they were weren`t worth anything , got some original tyres as that all i need and a nos original seat .
this was a usa standard spec bike that was black and will be again when i do it one day (http://www.radbmx.co.uk/archive/albums/v607/stuntmaster/IMGP0017.jpg)

Thanks mate, having a bit of ball ache getting the chainwheel and freewheel to line up the chain nicely at the minute, thinks its to do with spacing out the chainwheel and the BB?
Also waiting for pukka repro decals from a guy in Australia who collects these bikes, once they are on the bike will look awesome!!! :daumenhoch:

nice Robbo. I love your work.
I had chainwheel/freewheel alignment probs too with my Sport, think it's still not great and the chain rubs the bashguard.

Love that Master, that came out just as i was getting a little sick of BMX. It opened up a whole new world of skateboard type tricks for us with the bashguard.
One quality re-build coool.
