Title: Bar etiquette???
Post by: telelogic on March 04, 2010, 10:03 AM
as a new school freestyler I know that having your handlebars in any position other than in line with your forks is a big no no.

Having only just got my first race bike I notice that on the web and in magazines some racers have there bars a little bit forward is there a wrong or right way with racing?

I do recognize that If I don't get myself a set of slam XLT's I will be the odd one out ;)

I've been told that bars in line with forks is a good starting point, and moving them forward a touch allows more power at the expense of some control.

Cool! I've got them dead in line right now, but they feel like they could move a tiny bit forward.

maybe just the Geo of the bar, or the lack of rise in the stem?

Vertical or a little bit back from vertical is my preference.

Nice to hear that I've got a choice :)

I'll wait till I get ride it to make the final choice, I'm saving up for some slams too :daumenhoch:

Try using the OS preference of bar positioning!!

A lot of novice NS'ers tend to use it too!!  :daumenhoch:

I've pretty much got that out of my system with the newschool freestyle bike!

I'd never go back to sheets and blankets  ;)
