What a waste. I'll bet theres various other venues from other sports just the same. Kind of shows that the Olympics nowadays is in many ways just money making/spending circus.

Another great example of China buying credibility on the international stage; such a waste :(.
-
ROADTRIP ? :D
-
mad to see. amazing it can go so bad so quick....they must of fenced it off the day after the closing ceremony and just left it. Out of interest do the riders who participated for china still compete?
In some ways it reminds of the uk in the mid school era....tracks just left to rot before being bulldozed or vandalised to death
-
Wasteful Bastards :idiot2:
-
it looks like a case of "last one out close the gate behind them" ???
-
:idiot2:
does anyone know where the 2012 BMX track will be?
-
nothing a little spade work wont sort out ;) :P
Its mad the amount of money thrown at bmx tracks + skateparks. I could build(and I'm sure many on here who ride) could build a killer track or park for a fraction of what they usually chuck at a project. To be honist I'm happy to build my own stuff out of recyled wood + dirt with no money or sponsors - just for the fun of riding it.
-
What a waste... :(
I remember staying up watching the live coverage while posting on rad there were a few online who'd stayed up to watch
It looks like a differant place now
-
Watching the racing on that late night was what lit my fire for bmx again.
shame to see it going to seed :(
-
Hard to believe its the same place :-\
Shame :-[ :idiot2:

Yeh where will it be ???
Probably not up here :LolLolLolLol:
-
Manchester I think ???
-
Wow I thought it would be held at Birmingham as that's where the BMX world championships are being held in 2012
, so I assumed they'd hold the Olympic BMX events there too ???
-
thats not a waste, you wait to see what we waste after 2012, newham has been totally revamped for 2012, only to be demolished in 2013, we can waste money better than any of them
-
2012 Olympic BMX track is in London, outside the new Velodrome
-
is it correct they are moving / demolishing the new velodrome after the olympics ?
-
NO, I doubt it. the way cycling is doing in this country I'm sure its gonna get loads of use by the cock-a-neys.
The BMX track is gonna be reworked though into something more useable

the worlds is gonna be at the national indoor arena so will be knocked down after.
-
The company I work for are building the Olympics. I was up there twice last week.
Progress is good, and the 'legacy' requirements mean very little will get wasted as seen in Bejing
-
what a shame, looked such an amazing track back when the olympics were on and now it looks like its been left for 20 years +! :idiot2: how could you let something as good as that go...
-
Shanaze probably wishes they'd bulldozed that place. :knuppel2:
-
I'm banned from that site, can someone hyperlink the pictures in here?

China only had 1 rider in the Olympics (a woman).
Wherever an Olympics is held, there is waste and debt after the event.
It took Montreal 30 years to pay off their 1976 Olympics debt.

Shanaze probably wishes they'd bulldozed that place. :knuppel2:
wonder if her bike's still in the undergrowth? :LolLolLolLol:

Yes. She's probably gonna be the only British BMX'er racing there!
