..................do you think you'll build for?
I have 2 more builds left in me and have currently got 3 bikes that re almost finished that I need to get round to putting the chains on but other than that I don't think I'll have the time or the inclination to do anything else. I've been doing this for 6 years now and unfortunately now I run my own bike shop the big wheels are calling my name ever so sweetly and I'm finding it hard to resist.

I have finished my TA to a level I am completely happy with, my white Rebel is also as nice as I want it to be. My final build, a candy red Rebel is just missing a chain and i'm a happy bunny.
That will be it, I have no inclination to build another.

i've said this 2 or 3 times. no more builds...................................but i always end up missing the fun of buying bits so im addicted im afraid :crazy2:
-
I know where you're coming from Dave. I'm a bit addicted as well, it's the hunt I enjoy. However I read an interview somewhere with Slash and he was saying the main reason he gave up drugs was because it was all the running around he had to do to get them, the hassle in it became too much. I think I'm at that point now. My quad will hopefully be done next month and then there's the GT to do from scratch but I'll do that as and when I have the bits ready.
I've found I'm doing builds for the sake of doing them and there's no real feeling behind the builds. The quad is different because it's a replica build but the GT is just because it's there and it's rare.

i done the same with that jmc i had.
the bike never done a thing for me. dont even know why i bought it when i was really after a hutch.
had no feeling for it at all.
im enjoying building this old puch more than i did that.

Clearing a few things out to start again. I know what i want from all this now.....ill keep going as long as i feel the love...
-
If it was a DY I'd have had it. :LolLolLolLol:
That's the one frame and forks I'd still love to build.

my t.a will be finished next week hopefully, i always said id finish with a t.a but the last couple of weeks ive found myself gathering more parts for another build!!maybe its just a phantom build, bit like a phantom pregnancy!! :LolLolLolLol:

Can't really see myself going much longer, i have 1 build here to do but i can't be arsed. It's just sat out in the garage half stripped. I've even stopped looking on Ebay for bikes and parts, didn't think that would ever happen.
I reckon i'll sell all the bikes and parts i have here soon. My missus would be happy if that happens straight away but i'll hold out for as long as i can.
Totally lost the bug for this hobby at the moment.

Finished my last build in 2002, then sat back lit my pipe and watched the prices go up and up and up and........

i thought i stopped a year ago, but now got 4 to do this year.. maybe I'll stop after these... its getting a tad expensive now, plus i have no room
-
i built the green and white haro master that won peoples choice at mk08 then stripped it down and sold it all off :idiot2:
now this year i'm building basically the same bike all over again cos i wish i hadn't done it and won't be making that mistake again
think long and hard before selling all ya bits off cos it could be a costly mistake :daumenhoch:

Simon you've done a load of bikes , like you say probably every one you need to do .
Time to move on to something fresh ,,,,MTB good idea ,, there's a few doing the same . :)
If you feel stale,,, it's time to go . :)

Well I only want bikes for racing/riding, so don't really need much more than what I've got.
However I'd love an OS cruiser to race... (see profile pic!)

Im on the verge of calling it a day. My stuff is 3500 miles away from where I live now, I havn't seen any of it since christmas when I was last in the UK, and even then there was no urge to build or even look at it. I have about 5 boxes of NOS stuff ive been collecting for 6 years but not used any of it. I always built riders and loved doing that. I also want a new montain bike and road bike so selling all the stuff that means nothing to me could fund that. Im back in the Uk for2 weeks in june so will start sifting through the boxes.
Mind you saying all that, when Subwax was selling his stuff a few months back, it got me all excited about collecting again and I had loads on my ebay watch list.
And theres the thing, when I started this post it was sell stuff, now by the end of it im already to keep on hoarding it.
