Don't know if this is a wind up or not? Taken from the Macneil site :
I have some pretty big news to announce. I have sold MacNeil Bikes, and Ten Pack Distribution to my business partners Darcy Saccucci and Jamie McIntosh who’ll continue to run them like normal. I’ve also shut down Metro Events. After spending my entire life either on a bike, or working in the bike business I’m walking away from it.
While it’s pretty scary leaving it all behind, I’m super excited for the new life that lies ahead. I haven’t yet decided what that life will be. I’m going to take a while to relax and see what comes up.
I want to thank everyone whom I’ve ridden with, partied with, and worked with over the years. I especially want to thank Darcy, Jamie and everyone else that’s worked with me at MacNeil and Ten Pack. It’s been amazing!

i saw that on dig site so dont think its wind up
-
hes just crazy enough to do it,and been threatening this for a while.
a god on a bike so ashame.

Its a shame when someone walks away. I havent got over Munners doing the same. :-[
I still think think about his bikes, have images of them as screensavers - they help me remember. I will get over it one day.
-
when did munners leave then ? to do what miron is doing seems mad to me, to grow up with bmx then walk away completey seems strange as fook
-
jay is strange as fook pete its got him down for along time, many injury's dog him and longevity must have taken its toll
he for me is one of my top 5 best riders ever so he will be missed .
-
Top 5 for Me as well, seems strange to walk away completely, but life has many paths & all that I suppose.
-
a change is as good as a rest. Why not do something else?

Yep, lots have done it. When injuries take over for many its time to consider something else

by some accounts jay's back was wrecked and shoulder couldn't handle riding, would dislocate at the pop of a bunny.
imagine the frustration when you could do what he did??
maybe easiest to try and leave it and find a new focus...
us losers, having lacked bags of talent, can quite easily bumble along still dreaming of scoring in the world cup final.. because we never did it in the past!!

That makes sense, like torturing yourself as so involved in bmx but unable to ride.

People change and so do peoples lives. Eventually we all get bored and fancy a change.
