Hi
Further to my last spoke thread, I would like to use red nipples on my wheel build, obviously, they are anno'd alloy not brass, what are your thoughts on alloy versus brass, strength wise, I will be using a rear coaster brake, 36H, 3 cross pattern.
will the ally nipples hold the spokes?

This was the spoke length calc thing I used. http://www.wheelpro.co.uk/spokecalc/ (http://www.wheelpro.co.uk/spokecalc/)

was hoping this was a thread about somthing else! >:D

Alloy nipples are shite.

Thought they might be (sh!te). I wouldn't normally be bothered, it's only being used for rolling around on, but the coaster will be my main brake, so I reckon on 14st of back pedalling braking may just rip their little red hearts out!!
i shall stick with the brass then.

Alloy nipples look ace on a show bike, I don't use them for anything I ride though.

Ally nips are find just make sure the threads are oiled and you're using the right guage nip key. Less rotating weight :4_17_5:
