just to let you know that the Hersden track is getting a complete re-vamp.steve jenks will be coming down and starting work on the track on mon 24th april and the work will take a week.the berms are being built up,jumps re faced and new sub base and surface.this is great news and dates for the summer series will be released once myself and tony have had a meeting to dot the i's and cross the t's so to speak.first race should be May the 7th but wait for confirmation.better get polishing those oldskool beasts.
-
Fooking Yessss
If you need a hand let me know
-
This is great news Justin and just what the South needs. Looking forward to reading the proposed dates and penning them onto the calendar. Humps
-
That's excellent news!
I was worried there'd be no more races there, but glad it's all sorted.
:D
-
whoooo !
time to do my thing :D :daumenhoch:
-
Great news, I am ashamed to say that I thought Hersden was going to be a no-show this year. It would have been seriously missed.
-
Thats great news justin , are you going to change the layout at all or just build it up ?
-
the basic layout will be the same.berms will be built up and jumps redone.we are hoping to apply for funding to have the berms tarmaced.this is purely for maintenace.unfortunately last year the berms were swept that much that when the rain came there was nothing to protect them and thats what causes all the hassle.straights are easy to look after as you dont slip going in a straight line and therefore no need to constantly sweep them.the air ram gate has been ordered but there is a 3 month wait so we should have it for mid season.
-
Air ram gate
now thats cool !
keep us posted on when / if any help is needed

What type of air ram is it Justin? You know if its a PT Dial-up DH.com will never show his face. ;)
You got loads of pikies round Hersden way, tarmacing shouldn't be a problem. ;D

YIPPEEEEE.
Been off the site for a few days and the first thing i read is this, time to polish the Diamond Back i think.
-
Decisions decisions, do I race the red rocket robinson, the quick as the clappers Kappa, or the new secret weapon. Hmmmmmmmm let me think.
It'll be the new secret weapon, although they never seem to have an effect on Darren do they.
-
Cant wait to get the ole supergoose out ;). It will be good to get back to Hersden, im hoping to get my boy racing this year.
-
hersden dates are as follows.
may 7th
june 11th
july 9th
august 6th
september 10th
october 8th
race fees are now £2.50.registration closes at 12.30pm.all rounds to count.dont expect all the bling trophys this year.only medals to start off with.i'm not going to hassle anyone for sponsor money this time as to be honest ,i think i pushed my luck last year and dont want to take the piss.of course if anyone is willing to put thier hand in their pocket a set of trophys for a meeting is £100.the dates dont clash with any south , e/anglia or nationals.so no excuses.i will not change any date so you can go to a kids party, pop round your mums for her birthday, holidays or work commitments.these dates are pretty much unmovable.
there will be a end of season presentation as per last year.tibbs cycles will be providing support for our race series and your patronage of their fine establishment will be very much appreciated.
will give you an update on the track in few weeks when the work has been done and then we are all systems go.justin.
-
August the 6th clashes with our old school event at MK :(
-
ok,new revised dates are
may 7th

september 10th
october 8th
got it right in the end.

Thanks Justin :daumenhoch:
-
I am so looking forward to this season.
Got a new bike, got a new helmet, got some race gear. Same shit me though ;D ;D ;D
A finals all the way.
Is Rad going to sponser a round like last year because that was the best race of all.
-
I would think we could stretch to that :daumenhoch:
-
There you go Justin, that's 1 round sponsered.
I don't think the old schoolers would be amiss at pitching in and sponsering a round as well like last year. After all if we don't support it we'll end up losing it.
-
hey justin.
i hope your getting the phil T gate system. screw what .com pros think. the broard band version is great and phil t offers awsome back up.
-
Isn't August 13th the National @ Decoy?? Humps

-
Couple of dates may be a problem but will support the series all I can - besides I must beat Batty !!!!
-
You must beat me first.
Remember I beat you last time.
Mind you I broke my toe last time out at Dagenham but I'mm fully fit again now.
Are you racing at Andover on Monday. I was going to try and do all the regionals this year but it'll more likely only be a select few which is a real shame.
-
Yep Andover Monday - Cruiser and Oldskool if I'm fit enough. Haven't ridden since the last BAD meeting where I crashed (again)
