I've had this F+F for some time but somehow it always got pushed to the end of the queue ???
It was heavily powder coated when I got it. This took forever to strip by hand and thankfully it was tip-top when I finally saw bare metal ... loads of parts have been lovingly brought back to life and the only thing left to fit is the gold Pro Neck stem when it finally arrives. Oh, and the hubs will be changed to early low flange Suntour with rear cassette when they arrive too ;D
Anyway, here's a few photos for now ... hope you like :coolsmiley:

as the above have said, the black & gold colour scheme is another famous favorite from SE Racing :4_17_5: another touch which i feel is nice Steve is the change of parts used, its a huge difference from the MX1000's, Kashi Aero's, Comp III's and Flight cranks that are used through out alot of builds, pukka build ;) :4_17_5:

Ripper's have been a hugely popular bike again since the os interest and tricky to build something that hasn't seen before. But you always manage something fresh, taking it up a notch with the quality and bung in some lovely details. I bet you've got a handsome set of plums too Steve. :-*
-
I really like that, not a fan of Rippers as bitd everyone we sold came back broken at some point but I have to say that looks fantastic.
You are indeed the Mr Kipling of old school bmx, building exceedingly good bikes :4_17_5:
-
giveme a shout on the saddle and tyres when ya split it...you old person

Thanks Guys :daumenhoch:
Amazing as always, top parts choice, looks like there has been an excellent resto job on the cranks, love the finish :daumenhoch:
The crank was in pretty good shape when I got it Arnaud ... there was plenty of battle damage to keep me busy though ::)
There was also some nasty chain slip damage behind the spider which is long gone now too :coolsmiley:
I chose not to polish the arms and left them with a smooth 'satin' alloy finish instead ... brushed faces like those on the Maxy Cross too 8)

Andy - I did think about polishing the crank but resisted temptation ... just !! I love the early Shot Gun and think it suits the Ripper nicely too :daumenhoch:
