I read in a few places that from 86 onwards they had straight knurling?

If it is the case then I need to change my Ebay auction, and also means I was lied to when I bought em.....

Post by: sid1972 on April 04, 2010, 10:54 PM: I could be wrong - but they were always finished in the same way.. I have never owned a white pair, but I think they are smooth, rather than knurled..

maybe if they were stripped would the knurling be there, I am not sure...

But if they were strpped and smoothed, then someone chromed them later - would they be CW'S :-\

Post by: SteveG on April 05, 2010, 12:28 AM: I've got a set black bars on my bike which I bought new in about 83 (I think) They have small diamond knurling on them.
This is more visable now as some of the black paint has come off so they might have appered more smooth when new.

A lot of the copy bars I have seen have slightly curved top tubes where the original ones were dead straight untill they passed the welded bit then had a sharp bend in them where the brake levers and grips were put on.

I believe your bars are genuine CW bars Roonga - I saw your listing on ebay and it made me go on a hunt as I had remembered reading something about genuine CW bars without the diamond pattern knurling.

Found it again on bmxmuseum - it appears they came with some CW completes - not sure if they were sold separatley with this knurling BITD :-\
