Ok you really want to know what i paid your gunna cry! £16.45 and i got two other bikes with it! Garage clearance i will sell the other two for more than that, so you could say i got it for free.

It cant be your bike it dont have a serial number!!! i have been in contact with Steve from DP and he confirms it's one of he's bikes but it should have a 4 digit number on the rear brake plate BUT mine is blank so he is thinking it a very early frame so i have a VERY BIG SMILE!

Im in the process of trying to get prices for a re chrome or i might powdercoat it.

if it was pink under and stamped then I would have claimed it was MINE that was stolen...  :smitten:

thats a wicked price skki  spend a bit of time with the strip and polish before you go for a rechrome... it could be pukka underneath  :smitten: :smitten:

Not to sure what finish im going for yet it depends on what the cost is really, i would like to keep it Chrome BUT i reckon thats gunna cost a pretty penny so im considering powdercoat either white or yellow. :)

Ya lucky bugger  ;)

Check out the museum section on here or the gallery on Steve's site for some ideas. You could also do something different and go for a never seen colour if you prefer  :daumenhoch:

You Lucky bugger... Enjoy I am looking forward to seeing what you do with it. :daumenhoch:

It was an utter fluke - I got it from my brother in law after it had sat in his parents basement for 25 years + it was one of the Ltd.Ed. GL Plus ones ( 500 only ) but I had to recoat as the Ni-Bronze was a goner... He really wanted it brought back to life, and I said I was looking for one - the only condition was to ride it, not sell it... which I didn't have a problem with  8)

If you check out all the bikes on Steves site that will give you some amazing colour-way ideas...

£16 for a early one is fookin result though eh...  :smitten:
Title: Re: Early DP Firebird Freestyler project
Post by: skki3330 on April 07, 2010, 09:06 PM
Mate that is a result and not to sell but ride i bet thats easy with these bikes. :coolsmiley:
I have decided on what i wanna do IF i cant afford a re chrome im gunna use superbikedan for a nice white powdercoat as i have a blue anodized headset and crank ring holder again i will get both re done. 8)

Post by: ED209 on April 09, 2010, 07:38 AM
That rare creature the Superus Bikeus Danus painted mine and I tried to kill him by wanting an impossible colour ( to make the DP Ni-Bronze... we got close but Firebird Steve is still on a mission for perfection as he has a Ltd Ed frame as well he wants to paint) and losing the forks when I sent him the frame ( I never packed them in the parcel...  :idiot2: they are now silver... and the frame is a pewter kind of colour -  ;D WHATEVER )

If you want the best powdercoat... go to Dan  :daumenhoch: ( just don't forget to put ALL the bits in drrrrrrrrrr )

I'm keeping mine as is for the summer... then I have plans for a repaint.

I'm still trying to get in touch with the lads I used to ride with hoping to hear then say "yeah my bikes still in the shed... do you want it?"

damn, looking at that i wish i'd kept my dp frame in chome.  Instead i went for white, i wanted chrome, but i chose white, not chrome as i planned. :uglystupid2: Most firebirds seem to turn out white, don't they? Why is that?  THat's so weird

Yeah i wanted to keep it Chrome but it's very expensive and my budget will be stretched and seeing i already have another project lined up :'( still white is a good color for a firebird and i already have some blue parts......not to sure about yellow and blue. Any other idea's guys??

I think the deal was that you could send DP your frame, forks or whatever and they would do them in any of the DP colours... mainly the pink and green... as the fluros were big at the time  :daumenhoch:

Just realised its on that last link I sent
