right just tried all combinations of bearing combos, downside up,upside down, inside out, back to front bla bla bla and the best i can come up with is about 2mm on the forks to thread the lock nut on,it works but is this enough??if so what a shite set up!!

Are you going to ride it?  If so, I dont recommend an alloy headset that only just holds, cos it wont last.   For show, sure.  who will know.
Its a crap headset in reality, 1" threaded alloy for this application is wrong.  Thats why there are so many about still, cos they werent used alot BITD
A steel headset you can tighten down properly with a PL440 headlock works perfectly.  Tioga bear trap2, YST, tange 320
its ok glen its a total carpet queen, been a hefty build on the pocket so its cosmetic only with the headset!!right it seems to be going fine now, thanks for the help chaps, stay tuned for the next hour as this build goes t@ts up in every department!! :crazy2:

Should fit ok. If it's the frameset I think it is it was fitted with a Tange 125 previously with no problem  :daumenhoch:

Ive got one on my TA and it fits ok.  Make sure the bottom cup is snug with the lower ball race, it sort of clicks in to keep the dirt out.
