yes, you can remove it. the whole hub. if the sport doesnt have a coaster bracket, use an mx hinged seat clamp, on the chainstay.

In the 80s I bought a coaster hub and ran it without probs for a couple of Summers. Getting the old metal hub out was easy, I just ground the tops off the rivets or whatever they were.
The hub didn't come with replacement bolts, though. Near the bike shop was a nuts & bolts outlet, luckily enough. The guy there looked at what I wanted and sold me a length of threaded rod and some nylock nuts. Worked fine for me.

Ideally, are you looking for a coaster brake, a free coaster or a freewheel???

Didn't we all used to call 'em back pedal brakes BITD? Or was that just me?

The above assumes it is a Tuff II. If it is a I then they only came with coaster and you'll have to get an "un brake" adapter to fit.

As the®uler say's you can convert most coaster brake hubs into a free coaster, they tend to be a pain in the r's though. IMO.

there's also the jb freewheel adapter. keeps the helical drive for the guts, but allows u to screw on a 16t or bigger freewheel...
or if for some reason u want to make it really heavy ;) , get the ACS freecoaster conversion kit (only 17T tho...)
