Hi dudes,
I am thinking only a back brake on this bloody Hutch cruiser build, but what are your thoughts fellas?
I have a pair of 900's and techs 3's, and am thinking of letting one of each go.
Ok to run a front brake on a cruiser, or a no no?
Cheers lads

Personally I would say a no, rear brake with a right hand lever ;)
Looks good every time 8)

A rear brake only it is!
Got to be left handed...
-

lol,i just corrected that, although just a front brake would be interesting :LolLolLolLol:
-
haha, If you wanted a face rearrangement!!
Actually, would a 900 be powerful enough to throw you off?!?
-
yes the fooking things are ;D.
and deffo only rear for a racer :daumenhoch:
-
I hope you aren't speaking from experience fella?!
Rear it is then!
MX900 and r/h tech 3 in blue for sale then!
-
UK way Rear brake and lefty
US way rear brake and righty
Deffo rear brake only on a race machine , unless of course you're doing a Harry leary ( he rode a front too ) :)
-
Rear only, left hand lever... :daumenhoch:
-
HunterDubber, Betty,
Always been the left hander - it's the only way!
Right hand just feels so wrong!
-
If running f+r brakes...front R/H lever and Rear brake L/H lever
If running just a rear then its R/H lever :daumenhoch:
but I guess its down to personal choice :D
-
It is completely your choice, bitd I would sometimes run a front brake also. It all depended on which track I was riding, if you had a track where you could out brake someone into a corner then a front would be a great benefit when racing.
-
Daz, I reckon so fella, always been cack handed with a LH lever!!
Stidds, this is more form than function - I wouldn't have the bottle to throw (I say that as I seem to come off a fair bit!) this thing round a track!
Not brave enough after the time it has taken me to source some ok bits!

Weeksy, I didn't think that you would be riding it around, just saying that we did use front brakes for racing so a front brake would be fine on your bike.
-
if you're right handed and only run a rear brake then its a right hand lever, simple as people.
-
Stidds, sorry dude, I took your comments literally, my mistake dude!
Boofy, that makes me cack handed then! Always a lefty!
Cheers fellas
-
rear only and deffo left handed :daumenhoch:
-
rear only and right handed :crazy2: ,,,,or if you can't decide chuck the brakes ,and stick your foot between the rear stays and the tyre ,,like the good old days :daumenhoch:
p.s dont forget the peg and playing card ,,to rattle on the spokes :smitten:
-
haha, man, I remember those days, on my Burner roaring about ike it was a crosser, feeling like I owned the streets.
Love it. Good old days, whatever happened to them!?
-
Like STIDDS says it is your choice and i agree that on some tracks i used a FRONT BRAKE on MY 20 INCH and 24 INCH :coolsmiley:
During the 85 season and never done me any harm :daumenhoch:
But for a show ponnie i like the look of just a rear brake ;)
WOODY :4_17_5:
